I just got off the phone with the people up at Leo Carrillo. This is definitely their slow season. They say that there should be no problem getting our campsites together when we check it, but that we need to reserve them anyway. They simply have rule that you have to have no more that 8 people to a campsite. So if we cross the line to more than 16 people we would simply have 3 sites. When we arrive, we should just let them know that we want to be together and how close to the restrooms and showers we want to be.
On that note, they told me that the showers are coin operated and cost 50 cents for 5 minutes. So, be sure to bring plenty of quarters.
We can just get 3 regular campsites and won't need to get a more expensive group site. Each site has about a 3 foot Fire Ring and a Picnic Table. Half of the Fire Ring has a grate on it that you can BBQ hot dogs and burgers on. Sounds like Match Light would work really well here. I was also told that many people just bring their own BBQ grills.
I'm actually thinking of spending the night on Friday as well if anyone is interested.
