MudDog:
Just a little "food for thought"...be sure you understand the terms of the different warranties if you are making this a factor in your decision. Many companies have "lifetime warranties" that cover annual service *parts* IF you bring the regulator in EVERY year for annual service (some won't hold you to "every year" despite having this in writing). Atomic makes an outstanding reg, and they are not as strict in requiring ANNUAL service to maintain their warranty...however, you do have to pay for the parts kit when you have your reg serviced. Not necessarily a big factor (unless you have many regs...then it adds up)...again, just make sure you aware of the differences in warranties if you are factoring them into your decision.

Atomic parts kits run ~$15 per stage. Compared to many parts kits that run $40+! Atmoic did that because they know their regulators are designed in such a way that they do not wear and tear like other regs. In fact, the HP seat doesnt become engaged with the knife end (thereby eliminating the cookie cutter effect) until the unit is pressurized. There is an atomic regulator with SN#8 in atlanta that is over 10 yrs old and has only been serviced once. They arent like other regulators that need more frequent maintance.

Also, atomic is, i believe, the only company that hand inspects EVERY regulator and every HP seat prior to shipping, unlike oceanic, etc that batch test. You wont be disappointed with the Atomic!
