I just bought a Dive Rite RG 2500 ICE. I dove a friends Dive Rite to 135 feet in cold water and loved it so I got one that was one step up from what he had. I'll get it in the water for the first time this weekend--YEAH! I got the compact gauges with mine, they are a little more expensive but they are SWEET!

How about the one you can service and get fixed locally the easiest?
Nowdays, all companies make excellent gear that will make 99% of all diver happy in 99% of cases. The differences in the breathing efforts between the different manufacturer are so small that most people will not feel the difference, we need machines to determine the miniscule differences between the high end regs. The difference is really in the manor how they deliver the air. Some are smoother, other more forcefull. It all boils down to personal preference.
It's just like the difference between BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Acura, Infinity and other luxury cars. Some dig the suprior design and engineering of the European cars, other want Japanese reliability.
I own a Mares Abyss, Poseidon Jetstream and a pair of Apeks and they are all excellent regs. If I had to choose only 1 of those for rec diving, it would be the Mares Abyss. I'd probably would have chosen it for Tech diving as well but the path I've chosen, wouldn't accept it as a suitable reg.
As long as you'll stick to the high performance regs, most of them will make you happy.
Just my 0.02 cents

Apeks......having said that Dive Rite regs are cheaper and are made by Apeks as well as recieving great kudos from the tek side.....

:06: they may be cheaper, but Dive Rite regs are NOT made by Apeks. Perhaps you are thinking of Apeks-designed Zeagle regs from the past?

Hi guys. This is my first post on the board although I've spent a bit of time reading. I know that this is a subject often posted about but unfortunately, the regs that I'm currently considering to replace my old US Divers Conshelf SE2 haven't been mentioned much. I'd like to hear your opinions about the following three regulators and which choice any of you might make. The three regs I've narrowed my search down to are the Aeris Atmos Pro, The Oceanic Delta 4, and the Atomic B2. I'd be happy to listen to any other suggestions as well.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes I would get the Scuba Pro MK 25/ S600

That's an excellent point. In this case, my LDS can service all three of the above mentioned and either stocks or can easily get all three.

Zeagle is made in FL, check them out. :D

Another vote for the DiveRite RG2500 good regs. not too expensive and easy to maintain.

Good Price............comes Din/Yoke. Breathes well at depth. Great customer service.

I also have Scuba Pro Mark 10/G200, Conshelf 21, and a Sherwood Magnum. My DiveRite is just the newest purchase and I bought when it was .50% Discounted at the end of 2004 for $150 new. Rent one if you can
