I don't mind, besides what other employer is going to let you play with all the neat toys that go BOOM? :eyebrow:

What is the difference between a Lieutenant and a Private?
Give up?
Answer: Nothing (not meant to ben unprofessional).

There is are a few differences...
The private is probably better prepared to go to the field,
The private can disassemble, clean, and reassemble an M16 before the LT can figure out how to get the slide off of his M9.
The private has better skills training.
The private gets to DX his unserviceable uniform items.
But in the end, the LT is paid more!

As an officer, I make sure I stay proficient with my basic soldier skills. I don't ask a private to do something I haven't done, or am not willing to do myself. Lead from the front and lead by example.

Ever see what a .50 Cal machine gun will do to a turkey?

We had the chance at Ft. Knox to hit some turkeys with the the machine gun mounted on the turret while I was still a cadet. I was sitting behind the M1A1 when the turkeys ran out onto the range. However, Cadet Gomer Pyle must have been manning the controls and the all the turkeys got away. :( Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for another chance.

Hmmm that would have been interesting, you wouldn't have to hit one with a round from a M2 just come close to it (would be plucked via velocity of the round).

Have seen what happens to Bambi when they venture out to aereal gunnery, 7.62 SLAP rounds via minigun :11: . Range control was not too happy.

My brother knew a guy who hit a deer with a HEDP M203 round! Vaporized Bambi. He fired at the same time the tower announced a cease fire. Again, range control wasn't too happy.

I heard it as Captains and Corporals, but same sentiment... I believe the phrase "dime a dozen" was inserted somewhere in there too.

Oh yeah, as to the actual differece? About $14 a day (YMMV)

This is a crazy little logo I'm going to put on a T-shirt and a hat when I get home. I made it at work between projects. Hope you guys like it (click on the thumbnail to view the full size image).

How many Marine Divisions does it take to capture a country? We don't know, it's never been done.

How many Army Divisions does it take? Only one.
