YAY>...isn't this fun....

NO.....:D

So, here is the deal.....This is all very NEW. There is A LOT of possible liability with us just "giving" you this information, while knowing you will be assembling regulators. Industry Standard is that you have to take a class to repair your regulators. A class was designed for this. If I knowingly don't follow that....I open myself up to liability. If you don't like it, blame the lawyers that get in the middle of everything. As much as I would love to give EVERYONE a copy of this manual, it is not worth the possibility of it falling into someones hands that has no business repairing their regs....then they die (although they told me they were competent and would accept liability for repairing their own equipment) and their spouse or family sues us for supplying them with this info and not requiring they take a class....Sorry, as much as I LOVE all of you, selling a few $20 manuals isn't worth losing what I love doing and the great store, staff, and customers we have.

This is MY opinion, which I am entitled to, whether you like it or not. So let's stop arguing about something that is most likely not going to change ;) Agreed? K thanks.....

So, lets instead figure how we can bring this class to EVERYONE at a reasonable price....which is where an online version comes in. Anyone familiar with recording webinars and such? Anyone using them on a daily basis?

No need for the bickering and back and forth....It is what it is, and that is what it is :D

I volunteer to be a guinea pig for the webinar training! I work in IT and view webinars a lot for work related stuff so can give good feedback afterwards.

Critical stuff will be video size, resolution and sound quality. Fine balance between good enough quality and slow performance.

as much as I was really looking forward to trying HOG gear, Dive rite is looking a lot better right now since they include their manuals free of charge on their website

I don't understand what the problem is, put the same CYA clause on the first couple pages of the manual just like they do.

Well said Mike, at the end of the day, its your ass buddy.

We don't do webinars in the traditional sense but we record video manuals for the custom software we write.

I'm still fuzzy on the whole online thing. IMO, which may or may not count you need someone to inspect and watch your work during the class. Maybe its good enough watching a video that has how and how not to do stuff.

Nice link....Maybe you missed this from what I said

"It is what it is, and that is what it is"

This is the way it is right now.....If that changes, it changes. As of right now, and the foreseeable future, I am not Dive Rite. I am Dive Right In Scuba....and this is our current policy on this ;)

We appreciate your feedback, but I am not looking to change this policy right now. I am however looking at figuring out the webinar option.

Why? It's not my reg! Maybe your are confused on who we are...We don't make them...we sell them and we teach a class for repairing them. If you truly think the above, talk to the manufacturer about it ;)

If you want to buy a reg or take a class on repairing them, then talk to us.

Which is exactly why it is being tossed around as a possibility. Not sure it's the best idea, but it is at least better than just giving out a manual and small CYA (which holds up to nothing in court). It gives us a little more liability control and "teaching" of a course....or so we think:popcorn:

Mike, don't sweat it man, you need to break some eggs to make an omelet.

Maybe we can all stand around the fire and sing kumbaya.

If you get something together and want an opinion let me know. I'm more then willing to share it and help out.

LOL....no sweat. Challenges are fun, and without criticism and comments, this program might never reach it's full potential. This is all great feedback, and nothing is written in stone. I can only say what our policy and stance is as of right now
