So the millions of SM divers that have a breakaway on their long hose are wrong because he doesn't?
If you get 6 sidemount divers at a bar and you ask about their config you will hear about 8 different rigs each one being the best.

You asked! We listened!

Let me introduce you the Fist Free Breakaway Connector for X-deep Bolt Snap (S size)!

There are three versions of clip with inner/outer diameter:
(A) 10/18mm
(B) 11/19mm
(C) 12/20mm

Was too lazy to go to storage room to get some hoses and I had only my Deep6 reg with their orange hoses to try on, so made three different size to fit different hoses.

It was a dirty job, but somebody had to do it! :))

UPD: After some undewater testing seems 11/19 mm is the best one for most hoses. Made Version 2 with some additional wall thickness and openings size tweaks, so it is more stable on the hose and better clip movement. Please use 11-19 V2.stl file.

because in Sidemount you need a brakeaway connection to share air! on single or double yes, just nylon string is fine.

What are you talking about? If you are breathing the short hose, and the long hose is clipped on your D ring, you simply unclip it to share air. If you are talking about an emergency situation where someone grabs your 2nd stage, it's much much more likely that this panicked diver is going for the regulator in your mouth, which is a whole different set of problems given the necklace and short hose.

It is customary to have a breakaway/cutaway connection to that boltsnap for entanglement reasons. I use a rubber band cut from a piece of bicycle inner tube. It costs nothing, can be replaced under water in 2 minutes, and holds perfectly.

I just don't log dives
My X-Deep bolt snap is too expensive to chance on gimmicks.

Any breakaway should be on the hose side, so if you deploy it the bolt snap will be hanging off your D-ring.

you simply unclip it to share air

Depends on how fast you can unclip it and how much trouble the person is in. If the snap decides that this it's time to go on strike and it won't unclip, someone is about to have a bad day. Your rubber band should be breakable so you're probably ok, but the back mount "cave line tied bolt snap" will be an absolute PITA to try cut while someone is glued to your chest breathing off the long hose reg.

Looks interesting, Thank you for taking the time to design the clips and for freely sharing the design.

What about using the top 1/2 of this item; replace the plastic snap with a SS one & cut off the botton 2 hose holders.....
