If you are a good ol' quebecois, you have to make at least 10 dives in 3 years to avoid the exam but you still have to pay for your friggin' Q-card. How can that be serious. First, it's easy to forge false dives and second, even if you made the dives, does 3 dives a year garanty that you'll be a safer diver???

True enough......Big difference between skill levels of someone who averages 5-10 (tropical vacation) dives/year over 20 years and someone who is "new" to the sport but has logged 50+ dives/year over 3-4 years in the great lakes & st.Lawrence river.

Is that really a dog in scuba gear in your avatar???

:multi: HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, BUDDY! :multi:

This is the Scuba Police! Pull that over, maintain neutral buoyancy, and keep your hands where I can see them!

Well, well. If it isn't another one of you HOT RODDERS out with your fancy-shmancy backplates and wings. You know, we got a law against that round these parts. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to cite you. Let's see your c-card.

Oh, I see. Only OW? And I believe I've gauged you at 70 feet. You just don't know when to quit, do you? The LAW says this is at least an AOW area. I'm afraid I'm going to have to haul you in.

:clicks pen, scribbles on slate:

I have found the answer to curb my wife's desire to walk our cats. She can take them out for a walk right after I take them out diving.

And here I sit in Tadoussac Quebec at the mouth of the St Lawrence wanting to dive. I have more cards than I know what to do with and I yet I have don't have license to dive here. They would likely look at my can light, long hose, BPW and toss me into jail. The crime of it... :D:D:D
