Hi I am out of Montreal, if you need the names of a few good charter operators just pm me. True but sad that there are very few knowlegable LDS's in Montreal.

In fact I get most of my gear out of tech shops in Ontario.

Believe it or not, we do have "Scuba Police" in Quebec. Only in France & Quebec do you need an additional permit to dive other then your C-Card. It is run by the FQAS (Fédération québécoise des activités subaquatiques). Their authority is somewhat vague since it is not a gov't organization but I believe (i could be wrong) they can hand out fines ranging from $200-$5000.

The owner of Nautilus diver center in Hilo thinks I'm going to kill myself with long hoses and a bracelet. Furthermore, wrist mounted bottom timer and compass are just going to get banged up and in the way. He commented on this as I watched him and his nubcaek OW class stuff their alternates behind their backs into a big rubber band on the tank, consoles flying everywhere.. I felt like telling him he was old and senile.
