I'm still doing my weekly workouts - 4 days of running, 1 biking and 2 rest days. This week I have missed 2 days though due to a cold. I'm feeling a little better now and expect to do my 6 mile run on Sunday.

At one point during Fran my HRT hit 180 bpm, but after it ended and I caught my breath, I felt pretty good. Not bad considering my theoretical max is 177

!

I heard that EANx99 helps alot... ;)

Glad you survived Fran...

As part of 3rd (of 3) CrossFit Foundation's Class, went over the mechanics of the overhead squat, clean, push jerk.

I struggled with the OHS, especially as we applied more weight to the bar. I've got to develop more flexibility in my hip flexors and shoulders, maintaining a better upright position at the bottom of the squat, in order to improve this movement.

Workout:
Grace:
Clean and Jerk 30 reps, scaled 65# (Rx is 135#)
Time: 8:50

I'm finding the complexities of some of these more advanced movements challenging. These aren't natural for me, and very awkward. I bet we took 20 minutes just trying to get the jump and shrug part of the clean down. The catch in the squat position was the first "natural feeling" part of the movement.

I was over half through Grace before the Clean and Jerk started to feel smoother. I think the constant repetition, and the fatigue in my arms kept me from muscling through parts of it, and using more of the technique and explosion from the legs.

Anyway... good day... I look forward to being able to do these Olympic movements competently.

Penny started her first CrossFit Foundation's Class today, and seemed to really enjoy it. I told her that her Valentine's gift from me was a gym class...lol... she preferred to think of it as private time with two handsome young gym studs that wore her out and left her sweaty and shaking.... gawd I love her! :)

Lost another 2 pounds this week... 35 total for 2009. This week's plan: more walking and maybe some biking.

Still alternating swimming and weight lifting days, averaging five time a week with a 1lb loss per week. :thumb:

Skipped yesterday, but back on the horse today..

I'm baacckk!! I can't believe it is the middle of February already! Where is the year going?

My holiday was super fantastic and I just got back home yesterday. I'm still all over the place for time zones but hopefully that won't last too long!

So, what have I missed? All doing good?

I'm looking forward to taking the Girls to the beach later today (like after the sun comes up LOL). Holidays to the US and on a cruise ship are not good for making healthy eating choices, but man oh man did I enjoy each and every morsel of the things I can't get here!
