today im claiming my diving at bare island....heffing my gear down the road/hill and across the bridge and down the stairs and under the bridge and to the water and then a 80min dive then out of the water, under the bridge, up the stairs and over the bridge and then back up the hill/road and i will be repeating this again tomorrow :)

morning morning is going to be a biggie for me... back to 6am training

Ok. I'm in. Need to get this weight off that I have been carrying around for so long.
Jumped on the scale this morning and figured I gained a few pounds during the holiday, and instead was pleasantly surprised that I haven't gained! Whoo hoo!! Now, back to that running and walking.
Yesterdays workout was home repair. Not alot of physical exercise, but was standing on my feet most of the day in a tight space.
Today is a 2 hour road trip, probably won't get much exercise and tomorrow is a day cruise to the Bahamas, probably won't get much in again.

Here's something I'm considering if I can find a practical way to do it with my traveling.
CrossFit Training
what is CrossFit?

I'm intrigued by their attention to general fitness and athleticism. The quote below from their site sums it up pretty well.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. WeÃ×e used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we donÃÕ change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

As a diver and budding cyclist I'm concerned about the lack of general/overall fitness from these activities. Cycling in particular leaves many parts of the body neglected, even atrophied, especially the core. When I was diving a considerable amount with steel doubles, that wasn't quite the issue... the core got plenty of work. That's not the case anymore, so it would be good to take up the slack with some general fitness.

Anyway... as I was reading through the CrossFit program that someone on a mountain biking site recommended, I was intrigued and thought I would pass it along.

Here's a plethora of Crossfit videos on YouTube.

It would seem that daily workouts (WOD) are as varied as the imagination to avoid routine.

To the quest for lifelong fitness!

This is so true with the running. When I was competitive runner we were not allowed to ride bike because cycling develops different muscles we "didn't need".:hm:
Just came from my first run this year. 6 k in 30 minutes on snowy, hilly road. I stink, have to jump in the shower now. After that I will plant my ass in front of TV to watch some football.:football: (If you're in Dallas, disregard the last sentence).

I think the humhuhumhum thing did most of the work.... :D

wasn't that type of humming!

:kiss2:

An other hour of humhuhumhum last night before sleep. An hour walk today!! ... hopefully more humhuhumhum later tonight!

Despite my plans no aerobic exercise today. Not worth it with our air quality. In fact nothing that raises the breathing rate. We are still in the deep freeze with temps of -45F to -60F in our area. That brings with it Ice Fog. With the Ice Fog comes a Hazardous Air Warning for all, not just the frail, all. Also, visibility in my area ranges from a couple hundred feet down to zero.

For those not familiar with Ice Fog: It is the water vapor from combustion of fuel; be that hydrocarbons, wood, or whatever. In our case our burgeoning population and increase in wood burning has also elevated particulate levels to the point that it adversely effects just about everyone. The health people say some of those effects are nearly permanent.

If everyone on SB knew "humhumhum" :cuddles: counted, I think on paper we'd be the fittest divers outside the navy:D

Hour and half of biking today. Also scrubbed down the boat.
