Does doing the laundry and walking count as an exercise? I guess it does! :D

Got on the bike for a quick 2 mile ride this morning, with dog running alongside. Then I gave him a bath and vacummed the floor. I am sweating, so I guess I have done something to get my heart rate up!

First it was the Hazardous To All Air Quality Warning in the ice fog. To say nothing about the visibility that would be limited even for divers. Then it was the frostbite on my feet. Today, I decided to at least do some weights.

Did weights, abs, pulldowns and back extensions for an hour. Feel much, much better. If the feet feel up to it I'll do a spin class on Saturday.

Mon- Chest and Biceps, about 10 exercises total, 3 sets of 6-10 reps, abs, and 30 min eliptical
Tues- Legs, 7 exercises, 3 sets 4-8 reps each, 30 mins eliptical
Wed- Back and Tris, 10 excercises, 3 sets 6-10 reps, abs, ran 2 miles
Thurs- Shoulders, 6 power lifting exercises, 4-6 reps, abs, ran 2.5 miles

I've also been on a pretty strict diet, no carbs after 5pm and everything else is pretty healthy.

Weighing in every day after workout. So far this week... lost 6 POUNDS!!! Ridiculous.

I am trying to stay active everyday. Does tying my shoes count as exercise?

You may have been trying to be humorous. But, in fact, dressing, including tying shoes, while standing is good exercise. One of the better balance training exercises is dressing completely, including underwear, socks and shoes, while standing and without any support.

As a person ages balance and muscle control becomes an issue for many people. This is one simple way to use a daily task to make sure it does not become an issue for you.

There are lots of things we do every day, like this, that can be used as training.
