Ode to Frost;

Whose kelp forest is this, I think I know.
He stays on Brody's reef, though.
He will not see me stopping here
To watch kelp sway with ebb and flow.
My little seahorse must think it queer
To stop without the coral near
Between the kelp and sand flat plain
The darkest seascape of the year.
He gives his cockle shell reins a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of turtle fin and gliding skate.
The sea is lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to swim before I sleep,
And miles to swim before I sleep.
That, my friend, is beautiful.
Hope you don't mind me putting it onto a picture. As soon as I read your poem this picture I took last year came to mind, and I thought they belonged together. PM me your name and I'll add it onto it as the author, rather than your screen name.
Feel free to print it off or whatever for your use if you like it.
Merry Christmas, Happy Channukah, Kwanza or Holidays, whatever your persuasion.

Thanks, they are perfect together. That's what I pictured in my head.

Merry Christmas!

Have you wondered how Santa stays thriving...
After all that packing and lugging and sleigh driving?
Santa, reindeer and elves
Fly the sleigh to Cozumel
For some drinking and diving and high-fiveing.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL AND MAY ALL YOUR DIVE WISHES COME TRUE.

---Bob

VtDiver and My1O - this thread amazes every single day. Thank you for the awesome poem and photograph. I too have new wallpaper. Have a great holiday!

John,
It's my pleasure. I PM'ed My1Ocean and told him I'd send the original as I reduced it in size and dpi to get it to upload onto the board. The photo is SUPPOSED to be rough, as when playing with it with PS, I liked this look over the original. However, if the poem is distorted as your wallpaper, PM me and I'll email the original.

I'm not very good at this so bear with me....

There once was a diver named Ray
Who liked to go clamming in the Bay
For clams he had high hopes
But he couldn't miss his soaps
So he had to exit the water by mid-day

Now let's see if he finds this...

While I'm at it:

There once was a diver called Nancy
And solo diving he did fancy
Well he nearly drowned
And his buddy looked darned scarey as she frowned
And made him admit it was chancey....

Nice job Gidds! Welcome to the forum and, I'm sorry to say, the Scuba limericks forum is very addicting. It's too late for you now.....:D
