I'd like to remind people that though there were no deaths, there was still trauma AND this is still the Accidents and Incidents subforum with special rules.

I wish that I understood German.

Wow. The translation wasn't great as you said, but the intensity of the trauma comes through.
I may have this wrong, perhaps someone with German as first language can tell me. Did the captain have all of the passports collected and supposedly in a case that he was to bring/save in such an event? And I was also confused by the insurance situation. Did the boat and/or its company not have insurance?
Who did the lawyers represent?

This group of divers are my latest heroes. They stuck together, planned together and helped one another. 👏👏

Best of luck to all in the future and please keep us updated on your progress, both in any financial recovery but also how your emotional needs are met.

@chillyinCanada on YouTube there is also a German Language transcript of the video... you might have better luck with your own google translation of that. It sounded terrible, but the aftermath also sounded very familiar to the story a couple years ago about the boat that caught fire in the Red Sea. Put in a hotel with very limited spending money and limited help with getting home. I have been on boats that have collected passports before and put them in dry bag etc. but I guess if the captain gets catapulted off board before he gets a chance to grab them it might be a problem. I hope they get the help they need as well... the video has a gofundme link to it if anyone wants to help in their recovery.

Sorry, did not had time to watch the video yet. Hence, can not comment.
But if there is a transcript, i would recommend Deepl.com as a translation tool. Often gives better results than G.

The transcript won't let me select it for translation. Maybe there's a way to do it but for me, I'm on my phone.
Perhaps screen shots and some other program but I'm not going to bother. Hopefully, we'll learn more from another direction.

Here is an translation of the transcript:

so welcome to the tinner talk today with four very special guests you all have the tragedy with the cold queen
noticed and we have three divers here with us today in the talk that's the
Zoe with her husband Dominik and Mike all three on the cold Queen
are on the road when she leaned to one side and we have Jan Philipp our accident expert with us
Tauchernet who will certainly have one or the other question when
Let's talk to you about what really happened, maybe you can introduce yourself to Dominik
Mike and maybe also says a bit about your level of experience that he thinks you are all not oBdA
more and um yes and then we'll try our hand at the whole thing a bit
Storyline how it all happened is acting along and Jan Philipp will always interrupt when
he has any technical questions and then we hope to get out of there
Get information about everyone I'll start with I'm the one I expect
Dominik 36 years old my level of experience is stress and rescue plus various special teams
for the night drops and frak diving and I think I speak for all of us when I say you definitely have
we caught the most inexperienced divers with a little over 100 dives but the Red Sea was real
now no stranger to us, we did the safari together last year
Exactly, I'm Zoe, I'm 31 years old and I have Advanced
open courses like the thief or nightlooks license and I was a little less diver than Dominik but was
also at the safari last year in Egypt exactly Mike I'm uh my education
is similar to Dominik's only that I have many more dives
I'm 47 and we've spent several safaris or pigeons together in
the troupe we all recognize each other okay we're waiting group with a total of 26 people how did you get there
Did you want to be together in a group or do you all know each other or there were
Brits there were Belgians Swiss how did it happen
we have a common denominator Armin and that is the Costa Blanca in summer
that's where you got to know each other and what it's like to go into hiding, everyone brings you along and um, yes, that's how you came to this group
which was also there for the most part last year, most of which we really know from
Diving and from the barbecues afterwards the oldest just before 70 years old
the youngest with correspondingly thick lock books and a high level of experience
21 years doesn't mean they are inexperienced, they have dived all over the world as you can see
you meet every summer in the Costa Blanca some live there and and some just come for 30 years
or longer ago that's just the denominator and from there
did it happen then that we said hey we want to dive together somewhere other than to a costa
Banka okay and what kind of tour did you pick out there we chose the northern one
Route in Egypt decided that we did last year and had a wonderful holiday together
laughed a lot saw many great wrecks also the water temperature took hold
is also a factor for some, so we said that we just want to do it again, that was a
well-rounded package but very well liked and yes this year with the same troupe and the same tour in
the planning has gone okay uh you picked out the Queen tickets for the tour
maybe just tell me how the whole thing started when he got there and on the geborde
Time and yes, then maybe you can just do yes
the people our point of contact when fleeing the cold or from the
Cards flee also said man we have a whole new one in spring 23
Ship quite great the condition we were in
always supplied with pictures, also regarding the progress of the construction work and us or we promised
are coming on a new ship we are well taken care of with all the trimmings really great
yes we are on the 22nd
April flew to Hurghada then got off the ship
it was all a bit strange up to that point, we were standing in front of this finished ship
and it hurt a bit on the left side
we were a bit surprised people asked what's going on here why is it possible
public just in the water or this is but thats not a problem at all we are in the process of staying there
straight water it all just looks so weird we just got back from the distribution of the dish
while making it clear that everything will live after the water can everything again
be ok or have fuel stashed we don't know that so I have
only seen the thick hoses with fresh water that were still connected there for fuel

f
was bunkered I don't know okay yes probably so it wasn't planned that we would do it again during the week
To go a country accordingly you also need fuel for at least a week of what flowed through the hose
I can't say that Maik, so I saw the hoses on the dipping dough the whole evening to see if that
Now it was fuel or water I can't tell but yes it is
just like you said the ship had a slight slight but it was enough for the various divers to really die
Kugel have asked what's going on with the ship because it can't even ask what's really going on
left side because the picture on the internet shows the heeling to the right, i.e. to starboard
and the site I can't say for sure I know that's for a sick
you're sure quite clear but good so when I on board
went on board was so he had you somehow about the life-saving equipment very there on that
Have you been informed or received a briefing or yes
So I don't know if it was before or after dinner on the first day
a bit talked about the ride very little about safety so little that
we then tried to inquire so what was mentioned was a salvage hole in the lower deck in the
last cabin which was also mentioned was there
Safety life jackets under the beds and I don't think I'm even sure of the assembly point
was actively mentioned or when we asked if there were a few more questions
is there a defibrillator on board what do we do is there oxygen what
we do in case of diving accidents when we dive, bottles hang under the ship but the answers so am
In the end it seemed rather stupid, so just when the defibrillator question came up, nobody knew anything about the word
to begin with it must have gotten us a bit uneasy
drove you saw the life jackets took a look
so we did it, we looked in the locker room, somehow I don't know, we have them
Cabin deliberately chosen so it was the first next to the stairs we had to go below deck everything else was already occupied
we deliberately took the one on the stairs, although the stairs had no railings, so we'll get to it
speaking we looked at the best the windows were very small so our head couldn't fit through and
were not openable the porthole in the shower was openable
but I would say I couldn't have gotten my head through there either, so you couldn't have looked through these windows in the
can come what was because of the rescue knowledge in it had the best had a collar on it has the
The whistle was on with the flashing light on
that I remember was the simplest model of life jacket that you know that was two two
foam blocks with one covered with an orange textile
I can remember that, I don't know if you saw any lights or loops
rescue change I think on board have you made yourselves smart yes that was even mentioned
with the sentence we have two life rafts on board and they are up on the highest point of the boat yes that
has also been said do you know the capacity of the life raft for many per island come in fit in 25
did the life raft have water pressure releases did you see that, they are usually yellow ones
Cans that are attached with a lushing ensure that the islands are also floatable
not say [music] not really watched I have to
order have you seen the maintenance sticker
now has no no more questions then yes you just drove off and
perhaps the more interesting question was anything attempted to do about the insult of
to get rid of the ship somehow so I can remember that I was
I thought it myself when we drove off, so that's all fixed now
I don't think I noticed any more heeling when we actually set off
I didn't notice it anymore, did I?
Mike so everything seems fine okay then how long were you on the road
until the day it all happened
and in the evening we went on to Abona, I think you did too, no
and after that at noon we went on to Abona Hass, there we have it
dived a question and in the evening after diving next to or
under the boat so was offered without guides we did
I know how many were in the water I think ten good dives exactly
all the time so not uncommon for the Red Sea
So I say maybe I've seen the hats in many pictures, there's usually a pretty good wind up
Lake and that's why we tried to protect our ears otherwise we had a few clouds on the first day
Heavens but it wasn't exceptionally good or bad the weather
yes, there was the night dive
