What was the disposition of the Triton after it capsized, did it sink or was it salvaged?
It was renamed Bob, and last seen heading for open water.

That’s what liner, coating, paint are for. However the videos above show other active ballast like gyro stabilizer and fin stabilizer.
The chances of these boats having any type of active ballast systems is nil. Their construction from what I can tell is a pretty simple hull.

That’s the point. They don’t seem to learn the lesson of the past. How many boats need to capsize before they start to consider having ballast on their boats?

There is likely ballast on board. I stated, I would likely say there was not enough ballast.

That said, I think the issue is more than just ballast.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

There were two deaths so let's try to be respectful and keep levity to a minimum.

It has been brought to my attention that the 2 crew men were rescued rather than recovered. Thus, not dead.

All that said, this is still an A&I thread.

I read somewhere that there have been sixteen (16) accidents in the last five (5) years. The last three (3) where in the last 21 months. How many fatalities?

My best guess, may not be fully accurate, the information is often hard to find. I would be glad to hear about corrections or additions. I spent 2 weeks on the RSA I in 2016.

This list accounts for sixteen (16) accidents and sixteen (16) fatalities in the last five (5) years. A total of twenty four (24) accidents in the last twenty one plus few month (21+) years.
