Not really moving fast the number of dives on my avatarr are 100% correct . I one ds4 first stage and tx50 second worked ok dint freeze but dint breath as well as the automics in deeper water . i got to use a zeagle in aboult 120 feet of cold water when borowing my frends gear dint toch my m1 in breathing quality . But i would recomend a zeagle to anybody But my first choise is always going to be atomic m1 witch sells at my lds for aboult 850$ canadian and my z2 sell for aboult 580$ canadian so not far off from other good regs prices

i paid $423.20 for my atomic b2, and $204 for z2 octo from my lds. you can find a good a price if you search hard enough.

so your saying that if I buy the atomic I'll save money having only to service twice a year and if I buy the zeagle I'll save money intially but have to spend more no service every year.

tell me more about this apek reg of the year 2 yrs in a row?

Apeks makes a good reg dint know it was reg of the year tho thoght that went to the T2 from atomic but yeah atomics have a 2 year sevice scheduel and life time warenty on parts zeagle does not

As for apeks its a good reg lots of tech divers use it because you can service it your slef but it is a 1 year sevice reg and the first stange has been copied buy other brands ie zeagle , dive rite , so you can get away with buying apeks quality for alot less money

I've noticed that most people seem to be using MARES...my new NAUI video has all the instructors using MARES. (NAUI's used to be Aqualung/Scubapro fanatics! Was talking to a young pro commercial diver (newly arrived from South Africa!) two days ago...he uses MARES. He commented on Italian engineering...like Ferrari/Lamborghini. And the price is right, too!

Let's call a spade a spade here....Everybody recommends the regulator he bought (shelled out for...pun intended) Just like everyone thinks his/her car is the most beautiful thing on the road. And, of course, his/her ceritification agency is the best! (be true to your school...doodahdoodah!

I love my Atomic B2... I have used Scubapro, Tusa and posiden. Nothing compairs to the Atomic. It breathes the same at 130 ft as it does at 3 ft. I simply love it.

I don't think this is true at all.

Nowhere in this post did I recommend any of the regs I own. Not that I wouldn't, but they likely wouldn't meet the need the poster asked about.

I use a Sherwood Maximus and I really like it. If I were to buy a new reg though I would definitely go with the Atomic B2. I don't want to pay the extra for the T2 but the B2 swivel head alone is worth a little extra. I think you can buy an attachement swivel head for the Z2 at scubatoys now which may make that reg something to really consider. The Sherwood Maximus rotates in two directions instead of just the standard one...so it's more comfortable than a lot of the regs out there...you just can't beat the Atomic swivel head for comfort though. Both regs have excellent air flow at depth. Another note, the Atomics are the only regs to ever score an excellent in all categories of the scubalab at Scuba diving magazine.

According to one of the scuba magazines last month, they conducted an independant review of the regulators. Atomic rated higher than all others. I don't have the magazine with me to site the exact findings other than Atomic was #1, but I can track it down if you like.
