I just bought myself a new reg set and now have 2 additional sets.
I'm planning on keeping one set as a backup and gifting one set to a friend.

Both sets are older Ti Atomic T2/T2x 1st and 2nd stages. (So old that Huish has no records on the serial numbers.)
Both have been maintained and upgraded as much as possible along the years.
One set (I believe older by numbers) has been my primary - with repeated use and service history.
One set has been serviced, used by spouse on 2 occasions, but mainly sits unused in a reg bag in the closet.

Which set would the hive mind recommend keeping, and which one goes?

AFAIK the only difference was that the x had a few parts changed from Ti to Monel (HP seat retainer, swivel retainer, Monel piston instand of SS)

Now.. I personally would keep the all Ti
But… I don’t know really I don’t dive any Atomics just yet

@Geo7 @Scared Silly Any recommendations/preference here?

Yes, flipping a coin sounds about right. The T2X added even more Monel parts, can't remember exactly, but does not matter much.

The T2X has three model parts the HP seat retainer, swivel retainer, and piston, the T2 only has a monel swivel retainer. That difference allowed AA to say use the reg for both air and nitrox. Rather than air or nitrox but not both.

That said many of us have pre T2X first stages without those parts. Myself mine have the monel piston and it is sealed. I use it for both air and nitrox. IIRC, George uses the SS piston and seals his uses it for both air and nitrox. Neither of us have managed to spontaneously combust.

As which to keep, the obvious choice is one that the spouse has been using.

Please tell me it's at least a friend with benefits
