Yet the water will still rise up into the hose up to the water level in the tub....then when you lift it out, the remaining water in the hose can trickle back inside the 1st Stage. In another chat; an Atomic user says he called Atomic HO & they said that it is best to soak it pressurised

How deep are you dunking your second stage underwater for the water pressure to reach your first stage? I have owned atomic regulators and used them as my primary regulators since circa 1997. I own several of them and have never had an issue with water intrusion, and I never rinse them pressurized. They are always clean inside without any traces of water intrusion. I have a bucket I use to rinse regulators (and computers). I put the second stage lower than the first stage in the bucket, and that's it.

It’s been covered over and over again yet the fear remains, it only takes a tiny bit of caution to completely mitigate the issue.

Dunk 2nds (including inflator connectors and SPG) - swish - remove. Dunk 1st, swish, remove.

Then again most of my dives are fresh water which I consider a 'rinse'. If I'm in brackish or salt water when diving from home my rinse is more likely to be done under a running faucet of warm water, one stage at a time.

Actually better to reverse the order, first first and seconds second, after hand by the first or lay down with the first higher.

Ah, good point Lex! I've actually found that the hooks sold for brake-caliper work function well for hanging regs up by the first stage (oh no, that's another disputed topic, isn't it! Most/all of my regs have swivel turrents so all the hoses end up hanging 'down' enough that no strain is being placed on them.)

These hang from either the wire shelving that's the indoor gear storage, or from the hanging bar in the garage where wet gear stays to dry in the summer...
