Pirahna Manufacturing sells all kinds of bands , 6.9, 7.0, 7.25 etc

OMS 7inch bands work perfect on LP72 with current manifold (Thermo in my case)

OK I took them in for a hydro.
The Healthways one is simple but the other pair ( which I want to twin) are not.
They are stamped as US DIVERS DOT 3AA 2250
There is a serial number starting with K XXXXX
There is a production date of 7 69. in between the 7 and 69 is a C with a L inside.
The tester says this is the 3rd party inspection stamp.
What we need to know to test it is who made it and what is the water capacity?
Can anyone help? there should be a manufactures stamp on it but we cant find it. the water capacity of the healthways has been stamped on at a later hydo and is 11.35 litres/ KGs

Both my PSTs have that same original hydro stamp. It might be Cochran Laboratories or something like that, it's a company that was contracted to do the original hydros. Captain knows.

The L inside a C is Cochran Labs which did the initial testing for PST. I don't understand why he needs the manufacturer and water capacity to hydro the tank. Something doesn't sound right.

This is the best source for most any information on tanks and hydro:
Certified Training Company - Hazmat Training Seminars

This page has Pressed Steel's testing procedures:
Manufacturers' Documents

Here is a list of manufacturers and Testing lab symbols:
Department of Transportation/Federal Aviation Administration Documents

None of them have a water volume, but the Pressed Steel REE number showing allowable expansion is on one of the above pages. Just make sure that your tester does the round out procedure specified by Pressed Steel before doing the Hydro test.

Thanks Captain, That's great info and completes the ID of my first LP72!

The document that has the REE also has the capacity. For the steel 72 it shows a capacity of 730 cu in

730 cu in = 11.962 liters

The document also has a water capacity of: 26 - 5.
I actually come up that the weight of 730 cu in of water would be 26.36 Lbs (or 26 Lbs and 5.7 oz).
We really use some convoluted units around here.

BTW:
730 cu in = 0.4225 cu ft

(0.4225 cu ft) x (2475 psi /14.7 (psi /atm)) = 71.14 cu ft
This is about what we should expect.

Here are some typical marking on a cylinder from the UK:

In doing some reading Australia and I am guessing New Zealand have followed the UK's standards. As such, if it good enough for the Queen is has to be good enough for those down under :D.

Tell him to fill it with water, break out the graduated cylinders, and start measuring:rolleyes:
