We dove Palancar Caves and Yucab yesterday and had moderate to middling current at Yucab, moderate current at Palancar Caves at times that we mostly avoided by doing about 40 minutes of swim thrus. We had to dive out of harbors in the morning, but could return to the town dock. Moderate swells when returning to the boat, but very doable getting back in. But the current really kicked in when we did our dive interval at Palancar Beach Club (I'm diving with Aldora.) The visibility has been great. Crossing my fingers for diving this morning.

Windguru must take its reading from the windward side. Says currently 17k gust to 28. Here at Blue Angel Sunday morning calm as a feather pillow. Yesterday and today has seen a fair bit of swell and surge tho

You aren't kidding. From the NHC:

"Sara has produced a tremendous amount of rain in Honduras. Data from
the country's government indicate reports of more than 40 inches of
rain at some locations."

Well, she picked up a little speed—faster than I walk anyway—and moved onto land, where she'll dissipate, flooding much of the peninsula...

We weren't sorry to see her go - Sara definitely overstayed her welcome off the north coast of Honduras - but we can empathize with everyone in Belize and the Yucatán peninsula receiving her now. Is Coz affected now too? My phone weather app shows rain there and fairly gusty winds along with an "Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Warning"

This is all a good reminder that a storm doesn't have to reach hurricane status to do a lot of damage...

Yes rain and some gusty winds (up to 25 kts) but nothing major. By Monday afternoon, a non issue.

Diving today, conditions were a little rough and rainy...

Punta Tunich 1st dive, RIPPING CURRENT, came up in driving rain, surface interval in driving rain

2nd dive yucab. Mild mild current, no rain, free swimming Golden tail eel, LOBSTER FEST prob saw 50 , 2 groups of 12+, yellow headed jawfish, banded coral shrimp, 2 yellow stingray, 1 Southern stingray, crab (idk what kind), a scorpion fish, white spotted file fish, Queen triggerfish, ocean triggers, several barracudas, black durgeons, rock beauties, Sergeant majors, Bermuda chub, yellow-tailed damsels, fairy basslets,, Rock Hind grouper,, blue tang

Weather should be better tomorrow
