Little advice? We’re here now, thru Sunday. We are flying out of CZM so should be ok, friends flying out of CUN so they are thinking they should leave coz Saturday and not Sunday to get to PDC to avoid a port / ferry closure.

Anyone think they they should try to get out of coz sooner? Ie Friday?

Right now port is maybe closed tomorrow, we’ll know more but Saturday looking like it’s more probable if I’m reading that right?

TS Sara is expected to move across Honduras and Belize coasts well south of you so why do you think CUN north of you would be in more danger? If her path changes more northerly, hard winds could arrive Friday so that could be a good day to escape.

The question is whether people think the ferries will cancel Saturday with the wind forecast. I can see how it reads a bit unclear but by “get out” I mean off of Cozumel

If they cant catch a ferry to PDC they’ll be stuck here. At least if on the other side they can get to CUN

That might not be such a bad thing. The winds will be from the east, so offshore on the west side of Cozumel but onshore across the channel at Playa del Carmen. Even if they could get to Cancun, the planes might not be flying. If I had my choice between sitting it out on Cozumel or in the CUN airport, I know which one I would pick.

Bumping this to the top since we're supposed to fly out there tomorrow

Everything that I see online shows that it's supposed to miss Cozumel but they're going to get some wind and some rain

Anybody else think the same or am I just wishful thinking?

I'm here now. I did a late afternoon dive and night dive last night. The conditions were too rough to dock at the town dock at 8:30 pm last night-3 foot waves crashing over the sea wall, the entire dock was a slip and slide. We had to divert yo the Marina Fontanur. This morning everyone had to dive out of the marina Villa Aldora or Marina Fontanur, but we returned to the town dock. All the North dive sites are closed because of weather. Local weather says 15mph winds the next 2 days, so we doubt there is diving, but are crossing our fingers for it. The water has been somewhat choppy, and it rained some, but all was doable. Visibility has been fine and current no worse than normal. Hope this helpful to folks!!

THANK YOU! Yes, this is helpful - our flight is at 1015 tomorrow...

tomorrows wind forecast is not much higher than today and in the same direction which is in line with the airports runway heading, doubt there will be an issue with flights. The AA flight came in and departed on time.
There was about a three foot swell with minor whitecapping along the wall from Tunich north but closer to shore it was pretty flat. Below surface conditions have been good with fair to good visibility and moderate current. Most dive no current and I have having to fin it. Temp 85F
