Did my first night dive of the season in the park last night. Great dive. Not sure how conditions were during the day, but I shot 30 min of video footage on a 63 min dive and the min temp was 63 F!

Interestingly enough, seems like there are a lot of spottings of sunfish this year. Also a lot of baby sunfish killed by sea lions too.

We've been seeing a lot of Mola Mola out on our sailboat. We've been sailing for years, and never seen so many before. In fact we've only ever seen tiny ones, and rarely at that. Here's two big ones we saw just in the past couple of weeks:

It's kind of ironic, because I traveled all the way to Bali, Indonesia a couple years ago, just to see the Mola Mola! We did numerous dives out at Nusa Penida, an island off the coast of Bali where Mola Mola are known to show up during certain times of the year. I never saw a SINGLE one (although the trip was certainly worth it for all the other things I saw, such as giant manta rays.) But now here I am at HOME, and I'm seeing the exact thing I traveled thousands of miles to a foreign country to see!

Do you host the videos online?

No, I try to keep my ugly mug off screen and let the critters take center stage. Wouldn't want to destroy the value of the show.

There have been several sightings of live ones in the dive park, as well as the dead ones of a few weeks ago (sea lions nipped off their fins and played with them like frisbees)

Anyone hear about the Mako attack on a seal at Catalina, viewed and video taped by a group on a Truline Charter?

The story and video was in my inbox today. Pretty graphic.

I think he meant post them online publicly for all to see. :D

I see what happened there. Yes, I was just asking if you put them online for all of the world to see, I wouldn't mind checking them out.

:)
