I own a b2 and mk25/s600, theyre both great regs, but personally i like the way atomic breaths better

Is it easier to breathe? you can adjust the knob on S600 right? is it still not the same? I never use them so I can't imagine the difference.

Guys,

I have just purchased my very first regulator. It was kind of impulse buying but after considering the ease of service/repair and the price of the regulator, I finally decided to buy.......Scubapro Mk21/S560. Problem is I can't find any reviews of this regulator, maybe because it's new, so I don't know if it's good or not. However, I trust scubapro regulators perform well. Thanks for all the feedback and Merry Christmas!

Dee

Dee,

You made a great choice and now you own a solid top of the line regulator, congratulations!!! Now time to go diving and be happy and never look back.

Hi Dee
I'm with Burhanmasster!
There is no doubt doubt that you have purchased a great regulator that will take you safely and comfortably anywhere you want to go in recreationial diving
Just make sure that it is working within spec then relax and go diving.

I meant with "BerhanMuntasser", that's a serious username!!

Hi Reefrat and BurhanMuntasser,

Thank you for your words. I feel a lot better now knowing that I made the right decision. However, I'm still curious why people say Atomic breathes better. Can't we adjust the knob on Scubapro second stage to make breathing easier?

They say that because they own one. Either of the regulators you mentioned is far, far better than you actually need to enjoy diving. 90% of regulator sales and comparisons are based on hype and subjective attachment to one brand or another. In fact, the atomic designs are very similar to the MK25/S600.

All scuba regulators do the same thing, which is to reduce the pressure of the air in the tank to ambient and deliver it on demand. They all deliver enough, they all 'breathe easy' if they're in good working order, and the differences between high quality brands is largely irrelevant to most divers.

Some of us have a peculiar interest in regulator design and function as a hobby, and consequently spend an inordinate amount of time and energy thinking about it and discussing it. There are worse sins in life!

I guess you are right. I was just curious why people said that and I personally never use Atomic so I was wondering if it was that good.

I have been diving with both an Atomic & a Scubapro top of the line reg. As I mentioned before, they are both excellent. However, they are very similar in design.

I have had better service from Scubapro over the years, but Atomic is a very good company. I dive a Scubapro MK25/S600. We also use it in training and rental. I believe it is the best choice for most divers. The exception is very cold, dirty water. Then the Scubapro MK17 is a better choice.

You are right. I have been asking around about where to get Atomic regulator serviced and not many dive shops can do it. People recommended SP because it's more convenient to get it serviced/repaired.

One day I like the Mercedes better, one day I like Audi and one day I like the Ford truck. You have a Mercedes, forget about the BMW today :)
