Go to Dive Gear Express and purchase an inexpensive 2.0 inch or 1.75 inch pressure gauge. Both feature a brass body and a glass face. Personally, I have the 1.75 inch pressure gauge and have been extremely pleased. It's well made and the face is super easy to read. It doesn't have any ridiculous graphics or coloring. It's functional, simple and easy to use.

Hi Ouvea,

Thanks for the reply. I will look into it.

Guys,

I have just purchased my very first regulator. It was kind of impulse buying but after considering the ease of service/repair and the price of the regulator, I finally decided to buy.......Scubapro Mk21/S560. Problem is I can't find any reviews of this regulator, maybe because it's new, so I don't know if it's good or not. However, I trust scubapro regulators perform well. Thanks for all the feedback and Merry Christmas!

The reasons you can't find any reviews on that regulator is because it was introduced at Dema this year. Hell you might even be the first person to own one. I will have to see a part schematic to see the difference between the second stages, but the first stage has a smaller piston than the MK25.

Hi Cbrich,

Yes, you are right. This regulator is fairly new. There is an article here about it. Have you seen it? It's got pictures as well.

Here is a point that I don't think anyone has brought up yet. It may or may not be of importance/interest to an individual user.

Some manufacturers will void their warranty and absolve themselves of any liability if an octo or primary first stage from another manufacturer is attached to their equipment. It's usually in the fine print.

Also, with an Atomic regulator you can have either an authorized dealer service the regulator or you can send it to Atomic. Scubapro will not service regulators directly, expecting the individual to use an authorized dealer.

Prior to becoming certified on a particular brand regulator, we sent them off to an organization that used to charge $50 to service an entire reg set. The only part they would charge you for was a high pressure seat, usually $20 or so whether it needed it or not. They did give you an elaborate form with your intermediate pressure though. I would be very surprised in any organization can provide service kits and labor for a first stage, primary second, and octo and still make money at that price. Sometimes when its too good to be true its not.

Thank you for this info. I never knew this. Why will they void the warranty? It's not like we tamper with the parts inside.

As a company, Atomic wins hands down. Way better customer service. Product wise I prefer Atomic as well because those regs practically breath for you and almost never have a malfunction or freeflow but Z series is not environmentally sealed. I would go with an M1 as that is my "DREAM REGULATOR"

Honestly, I prefer Atomic, too. I dreamt of buying Z3. It's just a matter of convenience and financial reason that i chose to get scubapro. Sob..

I own a b2 and mk25/s600, theyre both great regs, but personally i like the way atomic breaths better
