I've had mine for about five years now and love it. It's the old style with the yellow insert which slightly restricts air flow from the reg, but it still allows more than sufficient air for easy breathing. The best part of the whole thing is the fit. I expend absolutely NO effort to keep it in my mouth. None. Zip. Ergo, no jaw fatigue. Well worth the price!!

I love mine. I habitually grind and clench my jaws. (probably a smoking thing) Can't tell you how many 'normal' mouthpieces I've bit through.

Have had absolutely NO problems with the Seacure. My jaws don't ache after a dive and it would take a chainsaw to cut thru the thing.

I got more than a deal when I bought it but, would happily pay full price knowing how well it has worked for me. Just wish they had it in Blue when I bought mine. I got the clear and over time its turned to a yucky nicotine yellow.

The price is freaking outrageous. It is essentially the same thing as a sports mouthguard that sells for $2 and probably costs about $0.05 to make.

That being said, I have one. I bought it because the stock mouthpeice was rubbing the roof of my mouth raw. I too thought it was too long so I took a pair of scissors and trimmed it until I liked how it fit.

For me, they're just so-so. I can be just about as happy with a Scubapro stock mouthpiece or an Aqua Lung comfo-bite. For me, the thing that seems to make the 2nd stage more comfortable is to have a very flexible hose like a Miflex.

I'm pretty frugal, when I bought my Seacure about 6 months ago, the best deal was at Scubatoys - I think it was $23. I got free shipping because I purchased a few other things which brought my total to over $50.

Love my SeaCure. But I did have to shorten the bite tabs a bit to prevent triggering my gag reflex.

Over the years, several other manufacturers have made mouthpieces with a moldable bite tab, usually shorter. The most recent seems to be the Mares Jax.
Mares - stand for diving
OR
Mares Mouthpiece Jax. Regulators Spare parts, Scubastore.com, buy, offers, scuba

But for whatever reason, only the SeaCure seems to have had staying power in the marketplace.

pricey price???...If they are, where's the best (cheapest) place online to order one ??---remember, grey market products are OK with me---ESP.-- on a fricking mouthpiece.........lol..& ....TIA

EDIT:---it doesn't necessarily have to be the name brand SeaCure, but something(else) very similar...again, TIA....

...don't be cheap...remember, it's 'life-support' gear! :D ...you've probably heard of a little local dive shop 'here' in Dallas (aka ScubaToys) which will have as good a price as anyone, especially with no sales tax for you, free freight with over $50 purchase and your 10% Scubaboard discount with Scubatoys. ...nothing personal, but I've seen plenty of posts you've done on Scubaboard and it doesn't appear you're 'financially challenged' ...so I can't believe the price is really an issue...and if you're a 'clencher' and rough on mouthpieces, SeaCure (or the JAX from Mares in Europe) is the way to go.

I will bite through a regular mouthpiece in 20 dives or so. 3 years and a couple hundred dives on a SeaCure and no damage, no jaw fatigue. Hate diving without it now.

i like it but at the same time HATE it also!

i think i molded it wrong and caused me to have a larger overbite than normal. after a dive, i would have a terrible headache everytime. i switched my mouth piece back and felt fine every time since. it happened over ten times before i figured it out.

i have bought another one but have been dragging my feet to mold it too
