Maximum wave height for scuba diving in SE Florida?

Very cool fish. None of us saw it. Seems like the school of fish is following it around.

Yea once he came out of the wreck they started grouping around him. He had blues eyes, really cool fish. I think the reason you guys didn't see is because me and Zeek swam around the other side of the wreck to get to the back. I stuck my head in a opening and spotted him swimming into the room. I start yelling at Zeek and then I try to swim through the opening but I am too big and get stuck lol

We did. We joined a large morning group that did a double reef dive. First reef was rather boring but the second was like "shark alley" with a good sized lemon shark swimming around, several nurse sharks including one tucked in under a rock that didn't seem to mind us at all, and large schools of fish that surrounded us and swam with us. Rather chilly though.

In the afternoon it was only 3 of us on the boat and we did the Castor, and then requested a second on the Castor- but the DM only brought one tank. He said he was expecting the second dive to be a reef and his services would not be required. Anyway Captain Dave asked me if I was ok free swimming down to the wreck and hooking a reel onto it that was attached to a surface flag, and I happily obliged for a second dive which featured the same half dozen or so groupers keeping us company.

I would have liked to visit the Bud Bar and Captain Tony but Dave discouraged this saying there isn't much left of them but I heard from some locals that there are some big chunks left with 15 feet or so of relief, and that Captains don't like to go there because it's tough to drop divers in the area and have them find and stay on or near on the wrecks because of the currents. Who knows..

@IncreaseMyT was only with us for the 2 West Palm trips.

This morning me and one remaining member of my original group of 5 did the Lady Luck wreck off Fort Lauderdale. It's 260' long in 130' of water and when sunk it was decorated with statues and was painted to look like a casino. I was looking forward to seeing it, unfortunately all the paint is gone and the statues are barely recognizable. Little to no marine life on the wreck but it was still somewhat interesting to swim through the engine room and do some light penetration.

How did you do?

Two more great days. Once with starfish and another with Loggerhead. Water was very calm...almost zero current. But chilly at 75 or so. Viz wasn't fantastic, but fun dives and met some good people. Took off today... might go out tomorrow.
