Since, it worked out well for the last two BBQs, I've assigned the rest of the items on the list. If you want to change any of this, let me know.

I have reserved a campground for both Friday and Saturday nights. Anyone who wants to stay Friday night is welcome to join me.

I'll have a couple of Coleman double mantle lanterns hooked up to a 5lb propane bottle with long hoses, so there will be plenty of light if you want to show up after dark to set things up.

I think Wrinkles has reserved a campground for both Saturday and Sunday nights, so it sounds like we're covered.

If anyone sees anything that we may have missed, please point it out now.

Thanks.

Long hose configurations on the Laterns, does that make them DIR???

Wow, I can't believe I didn't even catch on to that when I wrote it!

I guess I've been more DIR than I realized for a long time then. I got this set up 20 years ago when I used to have 4WD parties. Come to think of it, I even carry a backup "white gas" stove in case I have an "Out Of Gas" emergency. DIR camping! :11:

So, I'd better hurry up and take the DIR-F class to be sure than I'm using the most efficient hose routing from my propane tank to my lanterns and stove. ;)

Looks like the storm that is predicted to bring big surf here this weekend is already bringing HUGE surf to the north shores of Hawaii:

"HONOLULU -- Strong winds in the northwest Pacific Ocean sent towering waves crashing along Hawaii's coast, prompting officials to close beaches amid fears that some waves could reach as high as 50 feet."

"A handful of beaches on Oahu were closed Tuesday, and Kauai County officials closed beaches on the Garden Isle's north shore as a precaution. In the past, such high surf has caused damage to beachfront homes, and left beachside roads and highways littered with debris.

The agency advised residents to avoid the beaches and stay out of the water, but city lifeguards said they expect some of the largest crowds of the season to attend a seldom-held big wave surfing contest. The Quiksilver In Memory of Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational is held only when the waves reach at least 20 feet; it has been held only six times in 19 years."

Interesting Wetsand prediction for the area:

I am currently in Honolulu and am on my way this afternoon to the North Shore to check it out! :eyebrow:

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time - even for a dive or two.
Maybe next time. Hope you'll have good conditions underwater and outside -especially during those cold nights.

on this one. Too much holiday stuff to get done. What's up for January, or has there been a decision?

Is the first page updated with the people that won't be there???

Yes. As I find out about someone's attendance, I add or delete them as necessary. Let me know if I've missed anyone.

I haven't included a list of people spending the night on Friday or Sunday. I'll definitely be there on Friday night though.

I've tested my propane lanterns and stove and everything is working fine. So, there will be plenty of light if someone wants to set up camp after dark on Friday night.

Thanks.
