Then I think it is a great idea.

I would suggest
1. make the "how we rate" part very transparent so that all can see how the ratings are achieved.
2. Although the manufacturer's review of the technical quality of the servicing would be important, the customer's experience is also an important factor and should play a significant role in the overall rating. I don't mean to randomly accept unsolicited reviews (where competitors could slam each other), rather have only those who have had their regulator serviced at a specific shop provide the review.

The reps would do the evauls.
Wouldn't you be placing your sales reps in the awkward position of rating their own customers and perhaps biting the hand that feeds them?

That is a good point... but I do believe that a rating system is appropriate. There are some guys out there who don't know what they're doing.

I would not trust such ratings.

I would be more interested in seeing customer feedback forms sent out from the manufactures when the shops service the regs to have the customers rate the service than to have the sales reps do the ratings.

This would do the trick I think, just ad a feedback form in the box
so he user can register and give his/her opinion on the reg and afterward
his/her opinion on the service.

BTW I'm an Oceanic dealer :D

So I say go for it

Ah, there's the rub. Although well intentioned, it would probably degenerate into a Scuba Diving magazine type evaluation--nothing is bad, but some things are better, THIS YEAR.

I would hate to be a rep who had to evaluate my customer to the general public.

My thought was when you have well set out criteria it becomes a very simple evaluation, the shop meets or does not. Not much room for anybody fudging the system. We publish the requirements and listing for the dealers and the public. The dealers would choose if they even want to be evaluated.

What surprises me is how many of you seem to expect that something "fishy" would transpire, or it would be done as a reward for sales....

Bottom line, while it could possibly raise the bar, from what I have read here there is too much distrust to have the program have any value.

Thnaks for the input!

DROPPED!!!

Could a mod shut and delete this thread?
