..."In 2021 a boat capsized in a lake near Egypt‘s Mediterranean city of Alexandria, leaving at least five people dead, including three children.

In 1991, the Egyptian ferry, Salem Express — sailing from Saudi Arabia to Egypt — sank killing as many as 471 people."
Liveaboard scuba boats...

If you think I said 'westerners have to die to keep the boats running and save a few bucks on safety equipment', you must either have very poor reading skill or are just stupid... or both. And BTW, the word 'murdered' doesn't mean what you think it does.
You pretty much implied exactly that in your pushback against suggested reforms in your post #71... and I know exactly what murdered means - we'll see what the final report finds (assuming it's truthful), but if fire alarms/suppression systems were not working and/or not checked, I'll stand by my assessment. No one should have to die like this - it's inexcusable.

If that translates into fewer boats that have proper systems and maintenance to prevent guests from effectively being murdered while sleeping in their bunks, then so be it. Do you seriously think this type of negligence/lack of proper safety & warning systems is OK in any country???
Nope, of course not. Westerners have to stop patronizing these dangerous boats. Me, for one, and others should as well.
Your reading skills seem to be very poor. Nobody was murdered, it was a tragedy.
Horse puky. Murdered, negligence manslaughter, similar enough.
When I check stuff like if there are actually life jackets or other stuff, people look at me like if I am an idiot.
Do you take a Smoke & CO Alarms on every overnight trip and test it before you sleep?

My reading skill is poor. Sorry about that.

I booked Red Sea Aggressor 1 a month before it burned down because it was cheap ($1000). They hired Scuba Scene as a temporary replacement for my trip. Later on Scuba Scene burned. Count my blessing for not being there at the wrong time. The boat is now just in my sweet memory of the lucky past.

In the English speaking world, murder infers premeditation and maleficence. No one is suggesting that in this case. Unforgivable negligence leading to completely avoidable deaths? Yes, but not murder.

LiveAboard.com has 88 Egyptian liveaboards listed, PADI Travel only has 53. Cost varies by more than 100%/night. Are there enough divers to fill all these boats and more?

Hi my friend @Dan. You were charmed on your Red Sea visit. I spent two weeks on the RSA I in 2016, it was more than 3 years later that it burned and sank, killing one.

No wonder you guys can't follow what I say when you don't even know the meaning of the words you're using.
There is some difference between premeditated murder and negligence manslaughter but not a significant amount. Stop trying to defend criminals.

The difference is huge in legal terms with significantly more severe penalties for murder. You may not like it, or agree, but these are basic concepts of law in westernised countries. No one is defending what happened.

Yeah, yeah, but people still die.
