Has anyone conducted satisfactory bussiness with this outfit? http://www.athenshomesolutions.com/id19.html

Yes, I ordered one of here kits and it arrived in a timely manner. Not only that but he was more then willing to assist me when I screwed up and ruined a piece through my own incompetence.

I have one of Jamie's Suunto interfaces, and I'm convinced that was one of the best scuba purchases $$ I've made! I believe that Jamie must get a certain number of orders together prior to building the interfaces in order to keep costs down. Send Jamie a PM for confirmation. You won't be disappointed.

I generally build these and ship them as fast as I can. I do have a full time job and I am a full time student so I can't sit around making these all day. This will most likely be the last year (if I offer them the rest of the year...) I will be offering to make these for folks as my life seems to get busier every day and I'm growing tired of people doubting me just because I'm not a big name company like Scubapro or Suunto. It's funny and sad how people jump on the cheap price so quickly, but then second guess you in a heartbeat so often. My phone number is 706-207-4771 (number should be on my website as well and is available from paypal and ebay) in case anyone ever needs to contact me. In case I can't answer, leave a message. When I have a question, thats what I do is call. A lot of people have their spam blockers so beefed up that you can't get an email through to them (not me...). I generally order enough parts at a time to build about 100 interfaces. I have a company make the circuit boards for me now as well and that is often delayed. I think most people that order don't realize its a one person, part-time thing nor do they realize how many orders I process. Oddly enough, I often don't get an order for a week and then get 10-15 in two day period.

I can confirm that Jorge's order was shipped (by USPS priority mail) some time just before Christmas but it was my first order from Mexico so I am unsure about the quality of the postal system there. I have not received any emails from him concerning this order besides possibly an initial email close to the time of the order. You won't find a person anywhere that can say I've screwed them over somehow. What email address did you send me an email to and what date/dates? I'll issue a refund immediately or ship another interface this week as it appears the item was lost. Just call, email, or PM me and let me know how you want to handle it or we can discuss any concerns further. I will see what kind of tracking I can add to the shipment to protect both parties. A quick email to me at jamie@athenshomesolutions or a PM to jamiei on scubaboard is all you needed to do. I think you'll find from the many folks from scubaboard that have dealt with me that I try to treat people right.

I still haven't heard from you Jorge as of 4:00pm EST. Let me know something. Also, if anyone on the board is thinking about purchasing an interface... i'm having a 3 day, 20% off sale on ebay. Note: Only interfaces purchased directly from me will be covered under a warranty.

If post cards that I send while in Mexico, are any indication of the general speed and quality of their mail service, I would judge it to be very poor! Cards are usually received by the people months after my return.

I ordered from jamiei some time ago and got very good service as well as assistance with software problems that I had with getting the device to hook up. This was with a Mac which made it even more difficult for me. As far as I'm concerned jamiei runs a great business and saves divers a lot of $$$$.

Jamie et al,

Thanks for the replies. Apologies for the late reply. After posting the message on the board I had to leave town on a short trip and just returned to my computer.

Jamie, I didn't mean to offend or demean you in any way. My uneasiness resulted from not having received any kind of confirmation from you, either about my order status or to my subsequent emails. More so, two of my email messages bounced so that only added to my doubts.

Our mail system is most certainly slow but usually not that much. Today I received a package with books from Amazon that was shipped on Dec 18 but those were books and not shipped by priority mail but rather at "book rate" so three weeks or more is not uncommon. Now that you confirm that your package was sent around the 24th it should not be long before it arrives.

I routinely buy stuff from e-commerces in the US and USPS->MexPost generally doesn't take more than ten days, however the recent security paranoia both sides of the border no doubt are screwing things. I shall check with the local post office on Friday (off town again tomorrow) to check they didn't try to deliver during my end of the year vacation.

Again, I owe you an apology for the harsh tone of my original post but you must realize that a simple message confirming the order would have avoided all this. I will post a message here confirming receipt of the package as soon as it arrives.

Jorge.

Since I hadn't heard anything from you earlier... I took the initiative to ship another unit to you via registered mail before the post office closed today in case your order was lost or otherwise did not find its way to you. The item should have arrived by now. This last shipment was shipped via letter air mail in a padded envelope and packaged quite well. Air mail was the only way to ship it registered so that I know exactly what happens to it. Air mail is supposed to arrive in 5-10 days I believe. I have a record of the shipping info if needed. I also shipped out quite a few orders today so if anyone is waiting on theirs, chances are it will arrive in a couple days.

Jorge, your new interface comes with the new removable/replaceable pin system. You will find that your contact pins are taped to the back of the interface. All you have to do is apply gentle pressure to pop them into place in the base(you shouldn't see any of the silver when you have them fully in place... you'll know what I'm talking about when you get it). If you have any questions, just let me know. Just for the record, I had sent you an email confirming shipment and I have not received any emails from you in the last 3-4 weeks if at all. I believe I may have possibly recieved an email from you early in December but I am not sure. If I did, I'm 100% positive I replied to it. I don't ignore people. I'm also not offended. I just don't want anyone having the wrong impression of me. If I would have had any reason to think you may have not gotten the interface, I would have picked up the phone and called you because email seems to all too often get blocked or misdirected.

Jaimie, I am most grateful for you walking the extra mile. I am a car dealer and know that sometimes you have to make bad businesses in order to live up to the customer's expectations. As I write this I'm picking up the phone to speak to you personally. I will also return the extra cable to you as soon as it appears. For some reason, I am not getting your emails. I've searched my system with your email, dominion, "cable", "interface" and "suunto" as search criteria and came up emptyhanded. My ISP let's me know when they block anything so I don't know what's happening. Can you please copy to jorgemtrevino@hotmail.com?

I caught the sale with 2 hours to go. Thanks.

I have just placed an order, hope to receive the interface very soon...

I am pretty sure that the guy will be faster than light...
