HEEELP !!!!

I can´t get it to work, i have tried to connect my palm to my dive computer but it simply won´t work

My equipment : Palm m505, Suunto Cobra, original Suunto interface, Serial hotsync cable.

I have tried with the modified null-modem cable and a null modem cable with full handshake but nothing helps?!?

What should i do?

Did you try the modified cable on my web site? If you are using the m505 than the cable I have on there should work.

I have tried with the modified cable, but it seems like the problem is getting data from the Dive computer, it looks like it´s ok to sending data from the Palm to the Dive computer, but then it stops and waits for an answer from the dive computer.

Any possible solutions?!?

Hi Mikey. I got your e-mail, sorry I haven't had a chance to reply, but here are some things to look at.

1) Make sure that the line 7 and 3 are going into 2. If you can get ahold of a tester to check the pin-outs on the connector to make sure they are connected and can communicate, that is a plus.
2) Did you download the plugin_suunto055.zip and install it as well as the software sunnto_divelog095.zip? Both need to be installed.
3) Make sure you get a cable going from your m505 that ONLY has a 9 pin male connector on the end. I tried to use a "Y" cable that had both USB and 9 pin connector and it doesn't work.
4) Here's a trick you might try and follow in this exact order.
-set the SUUNTO in TR-PC mode FIRST...wait about 10sec.
-go to the transfer screen on your palm and then press the transfer button for about 2 seconds. I know this sounds strange, but it works for me.
-lastly, switch around the cables for the connector you created. just unplug the suunto and palm and swap both sides. Try the steps above again.

Finally, do you have any other software installed on your palm that might be interfering with communication. I've heard people complaining about battery saver software that they installed on their palm that messes with communication.

Hope this helps...let me know if you have problems.

Where can I find the protocol and data stream format that the Aeris uses?

Otter

There isn't one that I'm aware of. See Hooked4lifes thread above.

Sorry
