Just a quick update from me. I purchased my Teric in February 2020 and 1 month later the dreaded covid cancelled holidays (diving) for 2 years so I’ve only put 165 dives on it.
In June 2024 I decided to send it in for a service to include New buttons, button O rings, chassis O ring, battery and scratch guard. Under warranty the depth sensor assembly was also replaced.
This difference in battery life is amazing.
As of today the Teric is at 52% after about 4 months storage. I keep it turned off but the AI and compass are both left on.
I’m extremely happy with my Teric and the sales and service from Narked@90.

I bought my teric in January of 2020. I have not needed to do any service but I am going to send it in after my 2 week trip in a week. Right now it loses about 3% a day so I am charging it roughly every 3 weeks. Hasn’t been an issue diving at all as I top it off every few days. I am still very happy with all its features, and hope to say the same about service in a month or so.

Love my Teric…battery started dropping after about nine months/several hundred dives, and that has accelerated noticeably. I finally sent it in for service (battery replacement) about 14 months after purchasing.

When I first got it, my Teric would drop about 10% with each dive, and hold a charge in between dive days; I was charging maybe once a week. When I sent it in, it would drop to 70-80% between taking it off the charger and arriving at the dive site, and drop 25-30% on each dive. I’d often end even a short dive day with a nearly dead computer.

Keep something like this in your dry kit (weird but the phone didn’t see the 100% but it’s not at 0) any way these can be found on the Bozo’s site named after a river. USB A and C plus an Apple Watch pad on one side and a flat QI on the other.

Just throwing out another data point I noticed this morning. My rapidly discharging Teric showed 20% this morning so I threw it on the charger (OEM) and the second it made contact with the charger the battery jumped from 20% to 32%. It's only been on there about 2 minutes and is already up to 40%.

EDIT - now it slowed down substantially. Last 12-13 mins or so it has only climbed to 44%.

I've noticed that behavior as well, when I put my Teric on the charger it instantly jumps up 10-20% in charge. It is probably a function of how the power manager measures voltage.

But to add a *knocks on wood* data point. Both my Terics were replaced in Sept 2023, my primary Teric had a battery replacement Aug 2024. My back up Teric didn't need one at the time. Now they are only 6% off on charge and it has been almost a month since I charged them. Normally I would be seeing 10-20% and increasing difference.

My Teric is also currently at Dive-tronix waiting for battery replacement; they quoted me a fairly lengthy turnaround and said that Shearwater had cut some of their support (thus the delay/backlog). They also told me they are no longer allowed to send loaner units out, and to contact Shearwater directly if I needed one.

Disappointing to see in a company that’s always had such an excellent reputation for customer service.

I am also concerned regarding a deterioration in Shearwater's service, the main reason I have stuck with Shearwater through my 8th Teric
