You can not remove the 700 cover under water if needed to clear something.
I've only used old blingless G250's, so I can't really say how hard it is to remove the cover of a new repackaged blingy G250V, but I am of the understanding that the pin that comes in the new service kits for G250's is there so that G250V's are no longer capable of having their covers removed underwater... Sure sounds like a great improvement, perhaps even more grandiose than the extra bling...

Do you guys know if you can get away with leaving that pin out in the new G250V's?

If the 250V is discontinued the only thing you will need to find is a source for some o-rings. The low pressure seat is the same as the S600. I have used kits for the old 250HP and S600 kits to rebuild mine.

And then there's always Trident.

The majority of the parts are intechangeable, so there's no reason to believe the "V" can't live happily ever after without the pin, like the old one.

The a700 needs tools to remove the cover.

The g250, g250hp, s600, r190, g250v, etc don't need the pin. Its apparently some CE thing. I don't have a single reg pinned, and the faceplates don't come off unless I make them come off.

Thanks guys.

AJ your avatar is obsolete. This is a slightly less obsolete model (diameters are wrong, but that was for illustrative purposes). :)

I took my pins out awhile ago. Never had any issues and any problems can be fixed underwater.

Does anyone know anything about these c-series regulators (besides the ugly factor, which completely eliminates them from the potential of being added to my fleet)?

So......is SP discontinuing the G250V or is it just no longer on their US webpage under regulator systems?

It is still on there website and is still going to be offered in 2011. G250
