I only want to have one and be done.

Everything in one place on one card. I get a new card and recycle the old one with all the beer cans and plastic milk jugs. Well, keep the last one before the Waning Gibbous Lunar Cycle Bonaire Box Jelly Spawning Observer Specialist certification so if I lose the new one, I still have easily producible credentials without paying another $65...

To your question, somebody already figured that one out. Use these things called "abbreviations".

Examples might include:

OW, EAN40, AOW, DP (40M?), EQ, NAV, NT, SR, WRK, RES, MSD, SOLO, 3MIX, DM, AIN, IN, CD ...

That's like 17 on one line. Could even list each cert number as it has the issue date (sorta) embedded as the first 4 digits (19080R06378?)

OR if somebody wants to keep up with the silly practice of having different numbers for each cert, incorporate each cert in the number ....

1908XXXOW06378, 2012EAN4002298, 2106XXAOW05991 ... or just issue a single diver number and use abbreviations.

But if you like carrying 30+ cards, GREAT. Good for you. Stack 'em high. Knock yourself out. Or as my mom was fond of saying, "Pin a banner on your butt."
Divers should be just graded by belt color, like in Kung Fu, and this color will be shown on their C-card. A newbie dives with a yellow weight belt, Adwanced get blue belts, etc. At the very top there will be the Black Belts who are certified for every possible underwater activity.

Some people say that sharks are attracted to bright colors (my SP Novas are yellow). Are you trying to get the newbies killed off? LOL.

I met an English/Dutch couple a couple of weeks ago who told me that in some place that they had dived (maybe South Africa?) no bright colors were allowed.

Research says sharks are colorblind, but do sense contrast between dark and light.

Not me, but I do still use the Scuba Earth that was around before padi misappropriated the product name. Scuba Earth by DiveBuddy.com | DiveBuddy.com

I guess the owners don't have pockets deep enough to get padi to stop using their name.
Scuba Earth and ScubaEarth are different names.....are you also as concerned about everything that says Dive Log. DiveLog, DiverLog, Diving Log, etc?

I read once (assuming I understood correctly, I have no academic background in this topic) they see a particular frequency band best based upon the depths/clarity in which they most often live.

And as I said before, you still have the same number of cards.

If one of my agency cards includes more than 30 certifications, what point type do you suggest they use for printing them all?
A minor difference.... if you do multiple certifications concurrently, that is (number of certs minus one) fewer total printed cards. An example would be the military competency exam with the FAA after Army flight school. My first pilots license ever comprised Commercial, Rotor, and Instrument. No individual cards ever issued.
To me, the biggest benefit would be a single card to be carried.... others could be kept in a binder or such for nostalgia.

Respectfully,

James

The best option is to just have everything electronically on your phone........and also stored / backed up in the cloud in case the phone is lost or not an option. Also, every agency should issue an electronic E-Card that last forever and can be printed if needed....

I mean...... when I get on a flippn airplane all I have to do is either show the boarding pass on my phone or show one that I just printed at home on my cheap ass printer... If that's good enough to fly then it should be good enough for anyone to get an air fill or a boat-ride to a dive spot...

I totally prefer the e-card......but when I travel I still keep a paper print out of any needed certs... Usually I just show a pic of an AOW and NITROX cert and never been questioned..

Here's a screenshot of what comes up on my phone when I open the PADI app.

I think the apps are the way to go. Each agency has their own, customer can show dive shop whatever credentials they want. If the dive shop is in an area of poor internet, the app should be perfectly acceptable.

Just tried it. I'm not found 😂
I just tried it and when I enter my birthdate in the format they want it says invalid date. Maybe a diver can't be born in 1955?

Edit:The format shows DD/MM/YYYY but it only accepts MM/DD/YYYY. Obviously we are not paying enough for a real coder.

I just checked SSI and they want $60 for a replacement.
SSI digital cards are free and issued with certification. Replacement physical cards can be printed at any SSI dive shop and the fee is $20 at my LDS.
