Yeah it certainly didn't feel like it dropped 90% in two hours. It was still pretty bright.

I have had two of these on my harness for the last decade. Outside of testing them before every dive, they just sit there and go diving. The beam isn't the best thing in the world, but the 6 hour burn time is impressive and they seem to last forever. Just another option for those that don't want to ever do anything to their backup besides clipping it to their harness.
It takes 3 C cell batteries and I change them every year just for good measure.

This is the light I have and I have never bothered to find anything better because why?
There doesn’t seem to be anything so worlds ahead that I just have to have it in the same size range for the money. I turned all my friends on to this light too.
I’m skeptical if it’s actually a full 1000 lumens, but it’s plenty bright.

Well I did some burn testing yesterday, I was confirming the burn time of the HP50 handheld, but it just so happens that they both have the same 90 minutes burn time on high. So I tossed in a DGX 1000-6, and another 30 minutes later and came back about 90 minutes after the first one was turned on. Comparing it to a freshly charged light the one that was in the bucket for 88 minutes (how long it took for the HP50 to flash and switch to low power mode), the freshly charged one is substantially brighter. And the new one was moderately brighter than the one that had been in the bucket for about 60 minutes.

So it definitely isn't constant for 90 minutes. Maybe only for a short period, similar to the EX35 maybe? Maybe DGX could give some insight.

To clarify (to me):

You put 2 DGX lights in the water? One at the same time as the HP50 and another 30 minutes later?

And then you compared whatever was in the water to a 3rd DGX light that was at 100% charge?

My suspicion is that the response from DGX will be that these lights dim a bit after the first 3-5(?) minutes and then are "constant output" after that.

If so, I think a good question would be, is it 2000 lumens for the first 3-5 minutes? Or is it 2000 lumens after that - after it has dimmed a bit?

Yes

That is the million dollar question.
