Hi there! Long-term diver but newcomer to the forum.

I recently dug up my old regulator set and found that there is a small dial on the purge cover of the Scubapro R380 Octopus with an arrow on the dial. The arrow groove on the dial fits a small coin and turns to a "dive" setting.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the purpose of this dial is as I don't remember it?

Thanks!

I believe it is used when storing the reg and pushes on the diaphragm to relieve pressure on the seat and extend its life.
