Boooooo

El Orans:
This restructuring is performed to align the Florida Conch Divers forum with all the other USA forums.

One size fits all eh? It may make 'board management easier, but it's wrong

Did someone complain or have difficulty navigating the previous 'zones'?? I didn't think so

It should be obvious that Florida is not your average diving region. Please seek/consider local input.

Please put Central Florida back, most locals know there is a North, Central, and South region

oh quit your whining.... it not like there are any real Floridians in Florida.... Everyone knows that them dang yanks just get tired of being snowbirds and just stop migrating...... (of course we have had homes in Florida now for five generations

do it easy:
How come this thread looks like it's in the marketplace? All the posts have trader ratings

OK, I guess I know the answer, but I just thought I would point it out while Florida is in civil war. :D
Good point. That will be taken care of.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

If we must be North and South, so be it.

I'm even warming to the thought of clubbing Tampa.

But please consider moving the Venice threads out of there and into South Florida. The way I see it, Venice is a place you go diving. Tampa, OTOH, is a place you come from to go diving.

So I looked at California. There you have north and south. Each has a calendar. South also has evolved clubs, with four clubs there. Apparently, these clubs are limited access. That's fine.

Is that what we're getting? If so, I'd expect the Venice threads and sticky to make it into the SoFla trips and marketplace. And if the Greater Tampa Happy Hour threads get their own private home, that'll be even finer.

And as we know, it's all about me! :D

Since there are over 1200 threads to process, it may take some time to get it all done.

I like your suggestion... :rofl3:

I think they should have a recount! :D

Now there is no Central Florida area. Of course, I wouldn't have used that area anyway. It's interesting that there's no clear line between north and south. There is a way to divide the forums that make sense and would be self evident. Maybe?.....naaaaw.

Taking diving and scubaboard out of the picture -

Anything south of Lake City is South Florida. The cultures and people are very different. I'm sure you have heard the expression to go north in Florida head south.

We could always divide Florida by time zone - Eastern and Central.

And finally, perhaps the terms North Florida and South Florida are not the terms that we from Florida normally associate with Florida.

This link will take you to a map that divides Florida into six regions. http://www.fl-counties.com/job/index.shtml

This will just take some time to get used to. Change is hard but change is also good.

Nice Kch, very nice. :)

Titles to go with identifiers like: Spring and Cave diving Mecca, Keys Diving, at least those as they are their own big worlds.
