They should have 2 more rooms @ $48 that over look the pool - an efficency over looking the pool @ $62, 1br on the pool for $80, efficency on the ocean w/2 rooms I think for $94 and a mini on the ocean for $75 :)

If they fill up, there are a few other hotel/motels within a few hundred feet at similar prices.

The cool thing is this place is literally right up the road from the pier, so we can car pool down all the equipment or people or both :)

My wife picked up one of the free tourist guides that has hotel deals in them. I need to know what area to look in for the hotels. I have Ft. Lauderdale, Pampano/Ft. Lauderdale or Deerfield Beach/Pompano/Coral Springs.

Someone over there let me know what's the area I need to be in to be the close to the dive site. And just to be sure post where the Dive site everyone expects to be at on Sat. Morn. I'll be coming over Friday night so CBulla if you read this let me know if you still want to do a check out dive.

We're diving around the Pompano Beach pier which is located at the end of Atlantic Ave.

The Sands Harbor Hotel is located two blocks from the pier. It's diver friendly, and has a great bar overlooking the intercoastal.

I'm there and as mentioned above, we'll be staying at Villamar about a half mile up from the pier on the beach side. I'm up for an evening dive for a little recon.. lets hope nobody is fishing near the pier and we can do a real eval!

We'll be there Friday and Saturday night and have the munchkin with us. Kris wont be diving that weekend.. something about munckin 2 or Xaviers sibling or something like that inhibiting the dive process ;)

We dove just south of the pier this weekend. Nice patch reef, not as much sealife as Commerical, but still it was a nice dive..lots of boat traffic. Saw the turbulance from a prop!

Prop turbulance eh? I wonder if we are going to have shotgun boat traffic coverage?
 
My experience with last years clean up is that the area is pretty well protected. Besides we will be mostly under the pier, not out on the reef.
