The departure system has not caught up to the new FMM procedure. Currently sitting on an outbound plane in CZM. For those without a paper copy of the exit FMM going through the boarding line they were devirted to another line to have their stamp verified and the data entered into the computer.
Might be a good idea to continue doing the online form until they work the kinks out

Is that even an option? The online form won't do you any good at departure unless it's stamped and incoming immigrations was only stamping passports. I saw several people with pre-printed forms put them on the counter and the officer just pushed them aside and didn't even look at them.

Hopefully that is temporary because the program went into effect Aug 19 and there are lots leaving still that arrived before that. In a few weeks it'll be 90% plus with passport stamps.

I hope they get it worked out. I had heard that the first few times they tried it they allowed the preprinted form but you may have seen the final policy. I did notice that for most of my arrival there was only a single active immigration officer and only begrudgingly about 3/4 thru did a second deck go active.
First time my luggage made it out before I cleared immigration

^that sucks^ On 8/27 every station was manned. Never seen that before.

I arrived in COZ on Saturday, 9/3/2022 and no FFMs were required. AA is still passing them out on the plane, but they are not being used by Mexican Immigration. I guess AA missed the Memo. You only need to fill out the one per family Customs form. 3 stations were manned.

They must still be in the transition process. We arrived Coz this past Monday, Sept. 12. AA passed them out on the plane, when we disembarked at Coz and got into the immigration line, there was a guy about halfway down the line checking everyone's form to make sure it was filled out correctly - and then taking the completed forms from everyone. No idea what he did with the stack, but all we needed at the actual station was our passports.

The guy was probably checking your customs form which is still needed, and figured it was easier to just take the paper forms and toss them in the trash than try to explain to everyone how it works now. Airlines are always the last to get up to speed. United would pass out US customs forms for years after we were using kiosks, then they started advising us to use the kiosks shortly after immigration removed the kiosks and just check passports.

I don't remember ever encountering Customs in DFW last month or IAH in December. Did I space out or what happened to Customs? I had stuff to declare, but never got a chance.

Neither did I at PHX. Didnt even need to show my passport. Apparently CBP is rolling out a facial recognition process at select airports.

i wonder what they’re going to do about people who currently submit an FMM when they leave Mexico and don’t have any duration of stay specified when they enter. México is certainly going to want to track their comings and goings.
