my Aeris ION takes in water at the end of every breath

I just had my, new to me, reg serviced before lake diving last weekend when my reg started taking taking in water. I tried to shorten my breaths to eliminate the problem but eventually had to switch to my alternate. I plan on taking it back, of course, but what could the problem be?

Aeris ION with AT400 first stage, newly serviced.

You have Bells Palsy or your reg was serviced by an idiot.

Is the mouthpiece cracked?

no, that was my first thought though.

Could be the mushroom valve for the exhaust isn't seated, or the tab not pulled all the in

It was the exhaust valve not seated correctly. It was such an easy fix. Any, I know for the future now.
