Hyde's Quarry will be closing for the season after July 27th, 2014. The County is doing a water recovery test on the quarry and will be pumping ~30 feet of water out of it to test how fast it recovers. The quarry is a designated future water source for the county, and the Maryland Department of the Environment is requiring the test to prove capacity.
