Looks like standard 1" tubular you can find anywhere that sells rock climbing gear.

I got it from http://www.diveriteexpress.com/hardware/tubing.shtml - though you may find it locally also.

I did get to try it out today (yesterday actually . . . time get's all messed up when you work graveyard - lol - my day ends in 2 hours . . .at 6am) and it seems to work quite well. My trim was off, though not much, but I had a different wetsuit on and a new one should be arriving in a couple of days from http://www.triple-l.biz which will really change my buoyancy - I'm going from a 1/2 mil to a 3mil suit (both full suits) Today I used a 3mil shorty and I needed about 2 more pounds, but I'll wait till the new suit arrives before I start making all kinds of adjustments.

Aloha, Tim

It will cost approximately 2x as much to buy from DiveRiteExpress (.75/ft) vs locally (generally .35/ft).

Just a side comment. Be careful using fixed weight versus ditchable weight. Weight belts are uncomfortable, but you can get rid of them when you need to. I would keep at least 50% of the weight you dive with ditchable. A high percentage of divers that drown while diving are found with their weight belts on.

See - this way I would never be found with my weight belt still on ;)

Tim

P.S. I've already made sure I can easily support my rig at the surface with no air in my wing - and since I usually ascend with no air in my wing - I should be ok swimming it up as well. But your point is well taken. 2-4 lbs of my weight is ditchable including a can light and the weight belt that I inevitably end up wearing for trimming out properly.

I would say at least . . . I need to find a local source now because i've used it all up :D

Kidspot;
Just wanted to say that that is one fine looking Beagle in the Pic with you. I could sure use him here in SouthWest Missouri out hunting Rabbits. Nothing like the music of a Beagle on a scent trail.

Thanks - I'd love to take her on a rabbit hunt - she'd love it!

I've played recordings of "beagle music" to her and she just runs around the house looking for them. Have not done any hunting with her (yet) but a bit of scent training and tracking work. Twice at my security Job I have brought her when they had break-ins to determine the direction the thief fled and attempt to find belongings . . .

also, if you're not against running a smelter, get some used wheel weights from your local tire shop. You can melt them down, skim the slag and then pour the lead into whatever form you want -- you'll find that the weights you make this way use their space much better than the shot method (there's no air pockets).
