Novice diver, tried Backplate and wing and looking for recommendations

Definitely going with 30 wing since I wanna dive Nor Cal and NY. And, thinking the 12lb quick releases since with 10 lb trim weights (22lbs total) presumably that will give enough weight to dive in 50 degree water with a 7mm, hood, etc..
I have a DGX 30# donut wing and it’s great!
I use it in Norcal.
The only thing I don’t like about the Hog wing is they are wide, the center panel is wide. They are too wide for my Freedom Plate and the Oxycheq / DGX wings have a much narrower center panel (only about 2-1/2” so it’s really narrow.
With regular doubles plates maybe it doesn’t matter, but the Freedom Plate tapers down and is narrow on top so it fits more snug in between your shoulder blades.
