Believe it or not,

But there is just a small bit of the world left beyond the borders of Texas. And there are a lot of people offended by the use of that term.If you don't have any clue on what they where, I suggest you take some history classes, just to find out.If you do know, well then I just pitty you.
Never the less the SB ToS is in place and prohibbits the use of the term.

Would calling someone a communist elicit a similar response? Stalin killed more people than Hitler. The main difference was that he was on the winning side.

Just asking.

Proberbly/proberbly not who will tell.Depending where the readers are comming from.
We do have Isreali-German-Russian and who knows how many other people on board that will be offended. So why not try, NOT to offend anyone.:14:We're all here to have the same fun.We all share the same interest(diving)we all share the same planet and best of all we share the same :sblogo:

Lets just ALL have FUN.:D

Sure glad I am in the borders of Texas to locally dive. :D

Gee whiz, a whole 3 feet, I have forgotten what that was like the last couple of months of good viz in Central Texas. And yesterday at the San Marcos springs up at the headwaters was crystal clear and warm 70's.

I'd have to make some serious adjustments mentally. Maybe I should make those adjustments anyway.................................:D

Just because you're a Mod doesn't give you leeway to be rude and condescending. I doubt you have a greater understanding of human nature than I, and I seriously doubt you can teach me anything about history that I don't already know. Just because you might take offense to one word you took out of the context it was intended is your problem, not mine.

Maybe you should try considering looking at the comment from a different perspective as well. It was not intended to be offensive to anyone negatively impacted by Nazi Germany during WW II. Consider also that it might be a language barrier as it is clear English is not your first language. Finally, I'm not sure why Europeans, or most anyone out of country, would be lurking in the Texas Swamp Divers forum in the first place. It may be a public forum, but I don't think we get a whole lot of people outside the state of Texas reading our posts. That said, I doubt anyone was offended by the way I used the term. What I think happened instead is that you saw it and stepped in to assert your authority as a Mod because of a technicality.

I did not know that Nazi is a word not to be used as per the TOS. Had I known that I would have used something else to get my point across. I appreciate that information.

P.S. Having 3' of vis isn't going to impress anyone around here unless your proud of having a full 3'. We often dive in zero. I'm sure Sloth, JeffG, Rainier and that crew are impressed by it though.

...i beleive [DIR] would be more widely accepted if it were not from the attitudes of the ones pushing it.
I couldn't agree with you more...

I think this is as much at the root of the DIR issue as any one objection we whom are not 100% DIR minded find.....those purist that are truelly DIR and apply what they feel to be the proper method of diving are usually far and few in number and are not the problem....it's the others that want to feel part of a 'group' and try to impress their feelings on everyone else. I hate the title elitist but it comes so often to mind when confronted with these divers. I persl. 'steal'--lol-- what I can from many different methods and approaches to a mix that works for me in my diving...I have read/studied all the major players and find each has some fine idea and methods, some more than others. I do really think though that if you are diving in TEXAS you need to apply the methodology of the D.I.M.W.I.T. school of diving. :D
