150' past the grate, unassisted. Got the slack out and it was at 1000' in no time. Took the rest of the day to get about 1350', then it(ROV) was deemed too big to go further...

Did the ROV make it past the champaign bottleneck or is that where it stopped?

Also, is it possible to get the ROV past the last restriction on the left end of map below or is that where the restriction is too small (approx. 4")?

Wow.... sounds like you guys have exhausted almost everything available to find the body. It is interesting to me that there continues to be a hit by the cadaver dogs. Either this guy was incredibly talented to be able to get back there, or these dogs are hitting on something that is not there.
Unfortunately the msytery continues.....

The cave is much different at this point than whats shown on that map(which is incomplete). The ROV made it past the champagne restriction(which is where the T is located and not much of a restriction at this point - until the sand slides again). It made it past the deep passage past, then back up, and back down(which isn't shown accurately on that map). The cave at the left of that map will be about the height of the ROV or smaller, already. The line continues a few hundred feet past.

. . . incredibly unfortunate . . .

Two OW divers were found in Royal a few years back near the EOL, further than I dared to go. I think what you have to remember is that just because you find a body there, doesn't mean that they meant to be there, there is a chance that they were in a silt out and kept swimming towards clearer, "safer" water.

No worries Mat, they didn't have a macro lens.:D

Anyone have a link to the footage? I want to make sure they got the good side of my crotch?

To get to the further reaches of the system, you're no mounting with a single tank infront of you. He would have had to shed gear to get to EOL. The guys running to that part of the system would have found gear/signs of travel(scrapes on walls/ceiling/clay would be inevidable in a cave of that dimension)... and I'm not talking about 2 tanks in OW and another AL80 200' into the cave. There would have been more tanks along the way, atleast one big steel(for a one way trip).

Sounds like he's either covered by sand (which from what I hear would still smell, so unlikely), or not in there.
