And the Sheriff? Did he offer any feedback on conditions inside after seeing them as well?

Does the family still think he's in there? Are they pressuring the sheriff or divers to keep looking? Or have they accepted that he's elsewhere?

Where does the cave system feed from? I mean, is it possible that there is a body elsewhere "near by" (but not in this particular cave system) and leaching into the ground water which is in turn ending up in the supply going to the Vortex and thus alerting the dogs that there is a body? To me this sounds out there but hey, this whole situation is out there IMO.

Sounds like he's either covered by sand (which from what I hear would still smell, so unlikely), or not in there.

Sheriff said "Thanks", no idea on his thoughts.

I believe the family thinks he's still in there. They asked how much money it'd take to keep divers there another day. Everyone denied money for the next day and left, there's no answers that will be found with another day of diving. I do not know if they will continue to persue a body there - its a family with a lost loved one, they'd like closure and I'm not sure if they've got that yet.

There are no other known conduits into the underground aquifer that feeds vortex. Also, there are no other known missing divers to which this ficticious other hole could be holding on to...

Its far more likely the dogs or handlers did something wrong...

Best thing that can happen is if the threads about it would die. I think any ideas that get thrown around on these boards give the family enough to keep hollding out for success. I won't speak for Mat but I was happy that we didn't have to send anyone else into that small stuff. Unless every cave is blown out this winter I think I have done my last cave dive there for a long time.
