Best thing that can happen is if the threads about it would die. I think any ideas that get thrown around on these boards give the family enough to keep hollding out for success. I won't speak for Mat but I was happy that we didn't have to send anyone else into that small stuff. Unless every cave is blown out this winter I think I have done my last cave dive there for a long time.

Perhaps you could ask Cave Diver to close it? He opened it.

I will say there's been loads of good info presented here about the dangers of cave diving, the amount of training and skills it takes to dive a cave safely, and what it takes to recover those that don't make it out.

I don't think they should be asking anyone to goto the back end of that cave... There's no reason to think he's there.

Don't worry about everything else blowing out, its not gonna happen. Never has as far as I know. There's always cave to dive in North FL other than Vortex.

If it's closed, can we still read it?

Just wait for my centerfold :P
Har!
I've actually been in a centerfold!
In 1981...
In Hot Rod magazine!
It's still on the wall in the Garlits museum behind Swamp Rat 25!

They put that sled on a carrier deck? You on the carrier?

Who laid the original line? Were they really good, or has the cave shrunk in diameter since then?

Sorry if it's been covered before, I've read the whole thread but not in a while.

They were really good, vowed never to go back, and the cave has shrunk in height since then(read as filled in, so now lower in height).

Hopefully Randy will be sending a Mag for the next TBM.. Curious what the fpm is on this bad boy with the hammer down, as well as burn times in different configurations.

Try 2 trips to Florida...

For those that aren't on FB...

I've gotten mine over 250 fpm in cave gear with a stage in speed 3, pitch 7, into a cave with flow. Fastest speed will give about an hour burn. Up to 6 hours burn at slow speed. Probably about 4 hours at the speed most other scooters go.

Now that's what I'm talking about.:D
