My favorite mod to my harness is getting rid of the innertubes for attaching the backup lights and using bungee instead. Burn two holes in the webbing with a soldering iron and insert ends and tie a knot on the back side. The loop stays in place and won't slide down after removing the light and it holds it's shape so you can re-stow the lights easier.
