Also remember that if you can use/need all 10 pounds, it's either steel or lead, the rig needs to weigh what the rig needs to weigh. I almost bought that 6mm plate, but determined that with my lightest exposure protection that would have put me more negative than necesaary.

Just add it to the plate
I have one of these bolted to the top of my 10 lb plate to make it all easier to move around: Grab Handles - I even keep one on my aluminum travel plate in a super bright color to make it maybe 50% less likely that the boat crew will keep lifting my BC by the top of the wing (goes well with the 6" HP hose on my AI transmitter to keep that from working as a handle)

I haven't seen or used the Subgravity plate, so I can't weigh in on that. I can vouch for the quality of the DGX singles wing though, I own it and use it as my travel setup.

If you're mix-and-matching, I'd personally recommend buying the webbing kit from Halcyon, as I found the DGX webbing to be a little too stiff for my taste. The Hs do also help with micro-adjusting the sizing.

Ooh that's a good shout. I like the idea of "oh s#@t" handles for a backplate. That makes me chuckle.

Another good suggestion. I had written off Halcyon stuff as too expensive, but if it's just the harness kit then it's much more doable. I've only heard good things about their harnesses.

You can get standard webbing from piranha for not much $.

The Subgravity is made by DTD (Czech Republic) and are considered high end wings. I replaced the stiff webbing with the Piranha stuff @lexvil mentioned above. Here’s a thread you might like:

Fascinating thread. So many options I have never heard of, and some really good info. And the requisite thread drift was perfect too lol.

Thanks man!

I think the leading choice for me is what you've mentioned here- Sub-G plate with a less expensive wing. Have some friends that like the DGX wing, it should work for what I need at the moment. Odd question- do any of those Sub-G setups have their adjustable harness? Curious about those as well.

Thanks for the reply!
I have a Sub Gravity 3mm aluminum BP, 26 lb wing and adjustable harness for my travel rig. I love their adjustable harness is clean, simple and no plastic parts and works great. They make high quality gear and they were very quick and helpful when I was emailing them a few questions about their gear. Their wings have 2 polymer bars in the center of the wing, so you do not need a single tank adapter and the Paragon single tank package includes 2 trim weight pockets.

Thanks for that info- glad you’re enjoying that setup! I’ll prob reach out to them soon as well. Mostly the final choice will come down to my funds/timing.
