Does anyone use an Air2 and Octo or is that just unnecessary bulk?
I have seen people diving that way on boats. But I don't understand the appeal

I use a primary reg on a longer hose, an identical backup reg on a shorter hose with a necklace, and a standard 2-button power inflator. No frills, no problems

I run a long hose 40 inches under the arm or a 60 inches wrapped for my primary and the secondary is on a necklace and a 22 inches hose. I use a Scubapro Mark 2 Evo first stage for the rig below. Second stages are either G250 or G260.

Sometimes for tropical travel resort diving I configure for the DGX BCI combo reg/inflator and run a long hose primary (40 inches under the arm) with a G250. This is usually rigged with the Mark 11.

Either or but not both. Unnecessary bulk and can be confusing in an OOA emergency.

This stuff has been around for a while, it's shiny been everywhere as far as depth and conditions go

I take it deep diving with an auxilliary bottle and reg

Only thing is I can't admire it, when it's in my mouth

I run a Palantic AS101 first and second with the hose attached to my right shoulder strap. In place of an Octo I have a AL40 with SEAC Synchro first and second stages on a necklace.

My rig is partially driven by force of habit (I'm a firefighter and set it up similar to my SCBA) and partially by the fact that I mostly dive solo.

My rescue philosophy is primary donate initially, with the intention of getting the other diver calmed down enough so that I can give them my pony and not have to stay attached to them. If that is not feasible then they can stay on the primary but not being attached to another diver is my plan A.

Oh, and DIN all the way.

An old US Divers SEA4 first stage with Aqualung Mikron seconds (primary on 40" hose under right arm and secondary on necklace with 22" hose). I love how first stage weighs over 1.5 lbs as it helps get some weight higher up.

The DGX BCI combo unit has a water hose (in cajun dialect called a hose pipe ;) ) thread which allows for the BCI to stay with the regulator for safer keeping rather than the wing as would the Scubapro Air X. It is not a balanced unit but it breaths just fine for it's purpose coupled with a Mark 11. I probably would not use the BCI with the Mark 2 Evo being as it too is unbalanced. The G250s however are and could care less as to the IP as long as it is within a reasonable range which the Mark 2 Evo easily accomplishes. Why the Mark 2 Evo for travel, well, because it is small, light, simple, few parts and is as reliable as the sun rising and provides adequate performance for sport diving depths and beyond.

I would not use a BCI/Air 2 and two second stages. Just too much. I have done it a few times just out of laziness when switching to another reg set (with adapter).
