These have all been mentioned previously.

El Billy's combo platter. Enough food that two people can eat their fill and still take home 1/2 the platter to eat later.

El Moro for mole enchiladas and margaritas.

Los Otates for beef tongue, cheeks and neck tacos. They were out of Pastors but this was excellent.

Casa Denis for squid grilled in garlic butter. FYI- they don't take credit cards. We didn't see the sign until we were halfway through the meal. Fortunately we had enough pesos.

La Chef for lobster and bacon sandwich.

In the past I had always gotten the Zachariah plate (which is superb) at El Moro, but the last time I was there I had the grilled conch con mucho ajo. It came with rice and refried black beans; I mixed it all up in a gloppy wonderful mess and licked the plate clean. It's my new favorite!

I did tongue. I did cheek. I ordered brain and eye. Thankfully they were out that day....

Oh my! I just had the avocado pie at La Choza tonight. Thank you to all who have mentioned it here. The first bite was a little different but then I was sold. I'm planning on making a return trip later in the week just to have a piece of that pie.

Thanks for the Zachariah plate recommendation. The fish Vera Cruz was probably the best fried fish I have ever had. They used snapper tonight. Definately on par with the coconut crusted lionfish at La Perlita. The shrimp in white wine sauce was excellent as well, definately worth ordering it on its own. Margaritas were good but I'm not a fan of cheaper tequilas. I have had some nasty heartburn (is 30 Tums in 2 days too much?) from diving so that added to the issues. Flan was good, service was beyond excellent.

Thanks guys for the tips!!

Always ask for the better tequila. I think Ray has Hornitos. If not he surely has Traditional. I have yet to find a place that doesn't have one or the other.

And anyone been to Jacinta lately. I heard that it might have been closed. Hope that is incorrect.
